Celebrating 100 Years of Waldorf Education

CONTENTS

Dear <<First Name>>,

We wish to welcome our dear students, families, faculty and staff back, after two weeks off for winter break. Every day we are grateful that you have chosen to be part of this wonderfully diverse Waldorf community.

On the chance of heavy snowfall overnight, a decision as to whether or not to close the school will be made by 6:00 am. If a snow day is called phone trees will be initiated, an email from the Communications office will be sent, a radio announcement will be made on CBC AM 690 & News AM 1130, and we will post online on our website homepage and social media accounts. Please stay tuned!

Unfolding Anthroposophy from Inodai Waldorf School at Ram Nagar

By now, many of you will be aware of the tragic airplane accident earlier this week over Tehran, Iran. My heart breaks for all who have lost family and friends. North Vancouver was home to some of the victims, including a student at a neighbouring school. I am heartened to witness how the larger community has banded together in support.

Board member and alumni parent, Walter Daroshin, shared the below quote with me and it feels especially poignant in these times. It serves as a reminder to cherish and nurture our relationships and to practice social inclusion by being fully present and listening in an effort to first understand before being attempting to be heard.

Action has meaning only in relationship
and without understanding relationship
action, on any level, will only breed conflict.
The understanding of relationship is infinitely more important
than the search for any plan of action.
~ J. Krishnamurti

Blessings of kindness & understanding,
