The Board of Trustees meeting held on April 11 dealt primarily with our continuing evolution from a working board to a board that is focused on oversight, governance and longer-term strategic thinking. We decided that we would begin gathering information and thoughts on how we can restructure our meetings to place less emphasis on day to day business, which is now more than ably handled by our outstanding administrative team, and instead encourage blue-sky thinking on ways to improve the VWS. Of course, it will be important for the Board to remain vigilant in its oversight role and attentive to potential areas of concern, but with the current infrastructure in place we are in a position to think about the VWS on a macro level and take advantage of the considerable talents of the Board members to improve it.

2018-19 Calendar - The calendar for the 2018-19 school year has been approved and is posted on our website here: Please note that all dates are subject to change, so please be sure to check back.

Cell Phone on Campus - We respectfully request that you minimize your cell phone use while on school grounds. Let’s join together and show our children that we value their company by being present for them. Let’s be thoughtful about using our cell phone in the presence of our children and their peers. Let’s hold our values in our hearts and honour Kim John Payne’s pro-connection message by role-modelling the kind of behaviour we expect of our children as they grow into free adults.

Hot Lunch Program - Healthy home-cooked meals are on their way! We are thrilled to be launching this trial program for Wednesday, May 16. Stay tuned for details!

Flower Basket Deadline Approaching! - Get your orders in before Thursday, April 26. See all the details about this great Grade 11 fundraiser below or by clicking here: link

Grocery Gift Card ordering is now available via an online order form! With online ordering, various payment options and the choice of mailing cards to your house, participating couldn't be any easier.

And remember, this raises money for the students without any additional money out of your pocket. Whatever you pay for in cards, you will receive in purchases from the stores.

We have raised around $6,500 so far this year and would love to reach $10,000 for our students by summer. This is only possible if more people get involved.

Last summer it was the gift card funds that paid for a number of the playground improvements such as the new (and highly used) four-square court and the repainting and new rings on the basketball court. We'd love to have the funds for even more enrichments for our students.

Please click below to order gift cards now.

Help support our Grade 11 Class as they fundraise for their Grade 12 Service Trip. Now is the time to order your flowers and vegetables for summer! As in past years, we continue to support the High School end-of-year-trips by offering hanging baskets, patio planters and strawberry baskets for purchase through Growing Smiles, a reputable and local nursery. This year we have added 10 pack veggies and herbs. Click below to place an order online, or pick up an order form from the Grade School or High School reception to order by cash or cheque. Thank you for your support!
