Flowers, Veggies & Berries - NOW is the time to order your flowers and vegetables for summer! This year we have added 10 pack veggies and herbs. The deadline to order is Thursday, April 26, which will come quickly, so please order soon to avoid disappointment. You may visit the website to place online orders or pick up an order form from the Grade School or High School reception. Thank you for your continuing support!

GROCERY GIFT CARD UPDATE

Another month, another winner! Longtime fundraising supporter, Gary Chen was the winner of the free $50 gift card in April. He has kindly donated it to the school which will help provide some refreshments for the upcoming Community Forum. Thanks, Gary!

We've raised just under $6,500 which is fabulous but not quite on track for our $10k by summer. I'm going to try to get an online order form up and running asap but in the meantime, if you want cards and can't handle the order form, please feel free to email me at vwsgiftcard@vws.ca as I'm happy to make your participation as easy as possible!

SPUD is also a great way to raise funds and have groceries delivered right to your door. They give the school 25% return for produce boxes ordered and 10% for SPUDcards purchased. They also have gifts for the top fundraiser each month. Check out the flyer below.

Welcome back after Spring Break. The campus has been abuzz with the sound of joyful children returning to class for the spring term. We are thrilled to be welcoming so many new students to the Vancouver Waldorf School this term. Please be sure to keep a lookout for new faces at dropoff and pick up, and introduce yourself.

Also during Spring Break, we welcomed our new honey bees to the campus. On these slightly brighter days, there is a good amount of activity around the entrance to the hive! The bees are busy collecting pollen and building their brood.

If we treat them respectfully, the bees will, for the most part, ignore us and carry on with their work. We ask that everyone stay 8 feet back from the hive, and do not approach directly in front of their entrance. Bees need clearance before they fly up toward the sky. So that they do not become agitated, please stay outside this range unless you are with Jason, our beekeeper. Be mindful when interacting with bees to approach calmly, without fear, and to send the bees love!

In the meanwhile, I have 3 more copies of Bees, a series of lectures by Rudolf Steiner, for sale for $25 (tax included). See me in the Communications Office if you would like to purchase a copy.

Many blessings
Laura Bergstrome
