REMINDERS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Recommitment at the Grade School & High School - Letters went home to all families from Grade 1 to 11, last Thursday afternoon via email about recommitment for the 2018-19 school year. If you missed this letter, you can find it here: https://goo.gl/4eqyft. Please confirm your child’s enrollment for next year by February 28.

Emergency Contact Forms - This is a reminder to please bring in the corrections/additions to the Emergency Contact Form that was sent home with your child last week. It is important that we have the MSP# for your child(ren) and also extra emergency contacts. In an emergency where the bridges may not be in use, someone on the North Shore would be helpful to list. Ronaye will be happy to make the corrections on BigSis for you if this makes it easier.

February Break & Family Day - Please make note that Monday, February 12, is Family Day and that February Break is the week of 19 - 23 — during which time, there will be no classes. For High School students this will be 'Work Experience Week', as they take up placements in the community.

February Break Billeting - We are hosting teachers from each of the 8 Waldorf schools in BC. Contact Ronaye at rireland@vws.ca if you are are interested in hosting ($40-$50 per night). We will be providing all the food so it is just a matter of providing a clean bed and facilities.

Chinese New Year Celebration: Joy of Reunion - Help make the magic happen and join a warm and friendly team of volunteers. Watch for the sign-up sheet coming soon at the Grade School outside the Music Room.

Lost & Found - What an abundance of beautiful winter coats, pants, t-shirts, etc... in the Lost & Found box! On Friday, February 16 you are invited to help yourself to whatever is left in this box; the remainder will be taken to the goodwill!
Our Spring Marketplace will be our largest yet - with 28 wonderful vendors! You'll find handmade toys, Waldorf supplies, gifts, clothing, and so much more.

Activities for young and old include:
  • Make your own Play Silk
  • Eurythmy led by Marie-Reine from Cascadia
  • Stirring - and taking home - of a Biodynamic Preparation lead by Ruth from Cascadia
  • Sweet Spring Crafts
  • Willow Weaving
  • Easter grass to plant and take home
We will have roving minstrels, and as fundraisers students from Grade 11 will be offering face painting & and a sit-down lunch/cafe with all money going towards their 2019 Grade 12 trip.

To make all this happen, we are requesting volunteers:
  • Set Up (Friday @ 3 pm) and Take Down (Saturday) - strong helpers required!
  • Musicians - if you’ve got a hidden musical talent, now is the time to share it :)
  • Silk Painting and Craft Room Assistants
  • Red Door Store - volunteers will receive training on the new and easy to use POS and get a 20% discount on regularly stocked items.
Contact Jann at jmwged@mac.com to get involved!

POLICY REVIEW

The Vancouver Waldorf School is a smoke-free, scent-free school. Many people are extremely sensitive to perfumes, colognes, aftershaves and other scented products, and we ask that you please refrain from wearing them at our school. Thank you!

Enjoy the weekend and Family Day holiday. See you back on Tuesday.
Many blessings
