Flower Bulbs Are In! - Stop by the Communications Office and pick up your flower bulbs orders from Laura. If you haven't paid, make sure to bring in cheque (made out to VWS) or cash. If you ordered through a Grade 9 student, your bulbs have gone home with them for delivery. Thank you so much for supporting this excellent fundraiser!
International Exchange Info Session - Grade 9 parents are invited to attend an information session with the program coordinator, Karen Broom on Thursday, November 8 at the High School campus at 7:30 pm.
Visiting Waldorf Teacher from Iran - Leila Alemi, a Waldorf teacher in Iran, will be visiting our school next Thursday and Friday. She will join us for Coffee Morning on Friday, November 9 and invites our Persian families to meet her.
November Break - A reminder that there will be no classes during the week of November 12 - 16. We will be recognizing Remembrance Day on November 12, conducting Parent-Teacher interviews between November 13 & 15, and November 16 is a non-instructional day. Enjoy your week, and we will see you when classes resume on Monday, November 19.

Death is a Wild Night and New Road...

At the Grade School Roundhouse on Friday, November 2 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Jason Yates, Michel Vles, the Vancouver Threshold Choir and Abegael Fisher-Lang are creating a contemplative evening to honour the Day of All Souls with poetry, music and simple ritual.

  • Multi-instrumentalist Michel Vles will play TAMUKE, a Honkyoku traditional Shakuhachi lament using Suizen or “blowing meditation”
  • The Vancouver Threshold Choir, under the direction of Jan Alexander, will sing contemplative music, a capella, from many traditions
  • Jason Yates will speak on the mysteries of death
  • Abegael Fisher-Lang will share poetry, story and ritual
  • Tea will be served afterwards

This event is intended for adults-only though older teenagers are welcome to attend as per the guidance of their parents. Attendance is free though there will be a donation box available for those wishing to contribute.


Tuesday Treats! Bring your loonies and toonies for an after school treat or beverage offered by our Grade 12 students! You'll find them weekly. And be sure to ask them about their ever-evolving travel plans.
Watch for upcoming samosas ready to take home for your dinner!
Purdy's Chocolates

  2. Sign in or create an account, then enter the customer/campaign number 41471. Click 'Join' and you will be redirected to the Grade 12 Trip Fundraising group dashboard!
  3. Go to the 'Shop Online' in the menu, then click 'Marketplace' and create your order. If you already know which items you would like to buy, go directly tothe 'Online Order Form'.
  4. Once you have selected all your goodies, proceed to checkout, & select your order to pay for. Enter your payment info, confirm, complete your order, then log out.

Several folks have asked about where to buy the colourful VWS hoodies and tee's that they've seen on children and parents alike this fall. We have an online store at Children may wear their VWS branded clothing in PE. The school receives a 10% commission off each purchase. It's a win for everyone!


Grocery Card Program - Grocery cards for November 1 are ready to pick up at Reception. Get your November 15 order in ASAP. Thank you for helping us work toward reaching our goal of $20,000 by the end of the school year. Thank you to Michelle, Elena, Jacinda, Linda, Vlado & Jeff for the scrumptious biodynamic caramel apples on Halloween afternoon. They were VERY well received at both campuses! Thank you to Parent Council for supporting. $256 was raised for the High School Student Council. Thank you to all who purchased an apple or helped behind the scenes.
