Books Due - As the school year draws to a close our dear Librarian, Christiane Rolland, needs to reclaim all library books out on loan. Please return them by June 19 or as soon as possible. If there are any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. Thanks. library@vws.ca

Lynn Valley Fire GoFundMe - On Monday morning we received the devastating news of a fire that took place in a local townhouse complex, leaving several families displaced, and sadly taking the lives of a mother and son. One of our dear VWS families lost their home and all their belongings to the fire. Thankfully they were able to escape, however, were left with nothing. This GoFundMe page was set up to help the family raise funds to replace the household items they will need to carry on. Please consider donating what you can. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed financially and has brought in clothing, toys, and other items. The family now has a good foundation of these items.

Summer Unplugged! - VWS summer camp for children ages 6 to 12 is back! Our camp runs from June 25 to 29, 9:00 to 3:00 pm daily. NEW MOON SOCIAL GRATITUDE

Our deepest thanks to all of you who supported the manifestation of the New Moon Social on Wednesday evening. From those of you who donated goods and services to the silent auction, to those of you who volunteered their time, energy and ideas, and those of you who brought their energy and enthusiasm to the event itself, please know that we could not have done it without you. Our six months of ideation, planning, preparation, and crossing our fingers for clear skies certainly paid off. What a blast! The celebratory feeling in the room continued to build throughout the evening and culminated in a very full and very fun dancefloor.

If we determine success by counting smiles and laughs, great conversations over wonderful food and wine, rave reviews about our incredible musical talent, and the many memories made, our first annual New Moon Social was a smash hit. We are still tallying the numbers of funds raised and will report back with results shortly, but for the moment, let us singularly recognize those nine families that have generously signed up to be monthly donors.

Stay tuned for a final New Moon Social update next week, which will highlight our donors and performers. Once again, to each and every one of you, please accept our heartfelt thanks for participating so graciously in your community connection fundraiser.
Sincerely,
Kate Muker, Paige Wright
and Mary Henley

BEACH CLEAN UP IN THAILAND

We have all returned safely after an awesome trip to Thailand! We loved the food, the local people, the amazing culture and all the sights to see! Wonderful, exciting experience full of memories to remember for a lifetime.

The group shot is the first morning of our beach cleaning taken at approximately 6:00 am just before starting. The girls are posing with the first filled garbage of the day. We cleaned Phra Ae beach (also known as Long Beach) on Koh Lanta for several mornings in the heat and filed 23 giant garbage bags with trash! The students reflected on the types of trash that littered the beaches noting it was mostly plastic bottles, straws, flip-flops, and lighters, and were awed by just how much there was.
Kaitlyn Cramb
Thanks, everyone, for an incredible week. Summer is on the horizon! I hope to see you at Grad on Saturday as we honour these 5 exceptional graduating students before wrapping up the school year.
Many blessings
