Call for Resolutions
A call for resolutions is to be considered at the BCIA AGM on April 22, 2023 and is officially announced.
For more information on Resolutions, review Bylaws 32 – 36.
- The submission deadline is 45 days before the AGM on April 22, 2023.
- Please submit proposed resolutions to JP Ellson, Registrar, at jp.ellson@bcia.com by 4:00 PM PST on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

2023 Annual Registration Fee Renewal Process, Payment Due by Feb 15, 2023

BCIA Registrants must renew their registration by the deadline of February 15, 2023. Effective for 2024 annual registration fee invoicing, the due date will be changed from February 15th to January 15th, to be aligned with the late PD filing fee deadline.

Vancouver, Victoria and Islands, District 3, Board Member Call for Nominations are scheduled from January 3rd to February 3rd, 2023
The Nomination Committee seeks nominations from BCIA Registrants in good standing for one (1) Registrant Board Member from Regional Electoral District 3. Nominations will be accepted from Tuesday, January 3, 2023, to Friday, February 3, 2023, 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time. Indigenous Peoples Cultural Awareness Training Requirement: Final Deadline, April 30, 2023
The January 15th deadline to declare Indigenous Peoples training has been extended to April 30, 2023. Please click on this BCIA website link for further details on how to satisfy this training requirement.
Please register by April 6, 2023. The Indigenous Peoples Cultural Awareness workshop is being held in conjunction with the 2023 BCIA Conference & AGM in Kamloops on April 20, 2023, 9 AM - 4 PM at the Sandman Signature Kamloops Hotel, Room TBD. PDH 6.00 Cost: $200.00
This course will cover BC Indigenous Peoples' history, including residential schools; colonization and its impacts; understanding Indigenous Peoples perspectives - racism, misconceptions, cultural safety; and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples – respect, protocols, UNDRIP. Includes lunch, materials, and certificate on completion.

BCIA is happy to announce their 2022 graduate and undergraduate scholarship winners:
To support future agrologists to achieve their career in agrology, the BC Institute of Agrologists annually awards up to $1500 in scholarships in each category: graduate and undergraduate, respectively.

The Mentor of the Year award may be presented to an active Professional Agrologist (PAg) or Technical Agrologist (TAg) who epitomizes the values and leadership of a mentor engaged in the BCIA Articling Program. Articling Registrants and newly minted PAgs and TAgs!
Please consider nominating your mentor for the Mentor of the Year award.

Agrologist of the Year 2022 Nominations
The Agrologist of the Year award may be presented to an active Professional Agrologist (PAg) or Technical Agrologist (TAg) who has significantly contributed to British Columbia's agricultural, natural resources, or environmental science sectors. If you know of an agrology professional who deserves recognition for their achievements in agrology, consider nominating them for the 2022 Agrologist of the Year award!

Agricultural Water Policy in an Era of Drought
Presented by the Agricultural Climate Adaptation Research Network
Water availability and regulation are front of mind for many agricultural producers. As climate change brings an era of drought, production challenges are acute while policy and regulation lag, creating unique challenges for farmers and ranchers.
The workshop will be hosted virtually on zoom and include small group discussions to offer participants a chance to share their experiences and ideas for improved water policy that works for agricultural producers. Register here
