Fairport UMC Sunday Worship Info

  • Worship Video: Above is your link to the worship video this week.
  • Thank you to Willa and Laura for sharing special music!
  • Flowers from Last Week: The flowers from last Sunday, April 18, were given in loving memory of Ray Maier, who made the world a better place with his incredible kindness, with love from his wife Dodie Maier and children.
  • Scripture this Sunday: Psalm 23 & John 10:11-18
    • The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
       He makes me lie down in green pastures;
      he leads me beside still waters;
        he restores my soul.
      He leads me in right paths
          for his name’s sake.

       Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
          I fear no evil;
      for you are with me;
          your rod and your staff—
          they comfort me.

      You prepare a table before me
          in the presence of my enemies;
      you anoint my head with oil;
          my cup overflows.
      Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
          all the days of my life,
      and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
          my whole life long.

      “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand, who is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away—and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. The hired hand runs away because a hired hand does not care for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again. I have received this command from my Father.”

Prayers for the Week

  • Please pray for baby Jonah (2 months old) who had an accident that resulted in a skull fracture and was rushed into emergency surgery.  He came through surgery ok. Continued prayers for Jonah as he recovers and for his whole family.
  • For the students, faculty, and staff of our local school districts - for those restarting school this week and those who are continuing their education at home. We pray for their safety, their physical and emotional well being and for those older students who may be struggling to remain in their current model.
  • We pray for our broken world: for those that suffer under the yoke of racism and prejudice, for those experiencing economic, racial, and social inequality, and for those that fear for their lives simply by existing in a world that is intolerant and unjust.
  • We pray for all those affected by the coronavirus (especially those caring for our most vulnerable).
  • We continue our prayers for Wini Adams, Nancy Baldwin, Judy Hessney, Sarah Joy, June Konz, Ed Lewek, Linda Marsters, Frank Mueller, Courtney Pedersen, Phil Race, Lois Spencer, Susan, and Kim.
