Hello April. You are welcome here.

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Earth Day is a day devoted to celebrating our beautiful earth. See below for two awesome things you can do to show the earth you care.

Rail Trail Clean-Up

If you're looking for a safe and socially distant volunteer event to say "Thank You," we have you covered. Join volunteers for the first Rail Trail clean-up event of 2021 on Sunday, April 25 from 10 am - 12 pm. Afterwards, join other volunteers outside at Triple C for a Sunday drink of your choice.

This Rail Trail clean-up kicks off the first of many this year, as US Bank, Center City Partners, and South End Social (@southendsocial_clt) collaborate to host one per month for the rest of the year. The clean-ups will fall on the third Sunday of each month, and include fun gifts, too! Sign up to participate.

Let us take those plastics off your hands.

Order a lot of take-out food and not sure what to do with all of those platic containers? Envision Charlotte can help. Collect your clean and sticker-free #5 takeout food containers and bring them to the South End Farmers Market each Saturday from 8am - 1pm.  Envision Charlotte will then process them and turn them into PPE and new plastics. A win all around!

Find your Spot to take your Shot

If you're over 16 years of age, you are now eligible to recieve a COVID-19 vaccination. A few things to remember:
  • Vaccinations are free for everyone (with or without insurance).
  • You do not need to show ID and proof of citizenship is not required.
  • You can get your shot anywhere in the state. If you receive a Pfizer or Moderna (two-dose) vaccine, plan to get the second shot at the same location as your first.
To find out where to get your shot, explore MySpot and Novant Health. Joe Bruno’s Twitter account has also been a good source for information about last-minute walk-in appointments.

#ParkGoals coming soon

The park will feature a large open lawn area facing Uptown, areas for art displays, sitting areas and variety of outdoor spaces for gathering and leisure activities.

Details on the park design, the Square at South End, and construction timeline are available here and a cool video of what to expect is here. Don't worry, we'll keep you updated.
