Hello May. Your flowers are welcome here.

Blooming and Booming

Calling all artists and creatives! Charlotte is Creative is working with South End to pair creatives with South End businesses for weekend pop-up activations - "Blooms" -  May 15 through the end of June.

Blooms are three- to four-hour activations that can take place during the daytime or in the evening on-site at select South End Businesses.

Blooms might be performing live music or dance, playing host to an interactive (COVID-safe) activity or creating art for temporary or permanent installation.

The goal of South End Blooms is to lift up small businesses with surprising, creative experiences from Charlotte’s creative community.

Learn more and apply by 8pm on May 6.

Walking into Spring

From colorful murals and outdoor art to gallery crawls and art shows, art is everywhere and for everyone in the South End. Around every corner, you’ll discover the neighborhood’s vibrant and welcoming culture shaped by creativity and self-expression.

There are three opportunities for you to immerse yourself in art this weekend: Check out South End's First Friday Gallery Crawl and sign up for an interactive art walk led by Anne Low of Art Walks CLT and Charlotte-born artist and muralist Arko on May 7th or May 8th! In addition, The UNC Charlotte Urban Institute has created virtual City Walks for you to explore your neighborhood and beyond. You may see a few familiar faces, and murals, as you explore.
