SPT Continues to GROW!

As of spring we have added new training sites at Bobby Bailey Tennis facility in Hall County under the leadership of Doug Mitchell; Medlock Bridge in Fulton County led by Kathy Avery and Sue Nguyen; Roswell Area Park coordinated by Kathy Avery and Jeanie Hamm; Pro Tennis International in Gwinnett County and led by Debbie Currie and Mark Gupton; and our newest site is being held in Athens and being coordinated by Isabella Bhole and her fellow UGA students.

GREAT JOB LADIES!

Welcome New Board Members

Jane Reid, Karen Kasik, and Judy Mapstone are the newest additions to our Board of Directors. Judy is a founding member and returning to serve another term after a brief and deserved break! The expertise of each of these ladies positions SPT to continue being a premier adaptive tennis organization!

SUMMER GAMES

Over 123 SPT athletes and unified partners competed at the 2019 Special Olympics Georgia Summer Games held on May 17-19 at Emory University. The weather was beautiful and the effort of the athletes and unified partners was superb!!!

SPUD LEAGUE

The SPUD League registration for match play athletes and unified partners is coming in June. Great opportunity to play the sport of tennis on a team. Watch for upcoming details!!!

14TH ANNUAL FALL CLASSIC DATES ARE SET

Mark your calendars and reserve September 27 - 29 for our 14 Annual Fall Classic. It will be held at the Lifetime Athletic and Tennis venue in Peachtree Corners, GA.
KUDOS to the USTA (at all levels) for having the 1st Adaptive Tennis National Tournament. SPT hosted a qualifier for the USTA Southern representative. The first and second place finishers with their unified partners traveled to participate in the Finals held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, FL. 

Pictured below are David Foster and Anthony Le; then Charlie Fournier (Dothan, AL) and Nate Nateson. The picture at the top shows all the excitement shared by all those that participated in the qualifying event at Lifetime Athletic and Tennis in Peachtree Corners, GA. Congratulations to all and a special thanks to the Unified Partners and the local officials that managed the event. Special Thanks to Cee Jai Jones for her support and the donation of the marvelous shirts being worn in the above group photo.
