The 8th Biennial National IDeA Symposium of Biomedical Research Excellence (NISBRE) will be held virtually, December 12-14. The NISBRE is a national scientific meeting to showcase the scientific and training accomplishments of the IDeA program of the NIGMS. The IDeA program develops scientific centers of excellence and trains biomedical scientists in the IDeA eligible states.

The registration fee is $200 per program (COBRE, INBRE, CTR). This registration fee will allow investigators, faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate students to register for free and submit abstracts for oral and/or poster presentations provided that their corresponding program has registered. Alaska INBRE has registered for the event. If you have problems registering, please email ua-akinbre@alaska.edu and we'll see what we can do to help. REGISTER HERE

Upcoming Webinars/Conferences
Fall Virtual Bioinformatics Workshops on Differential gene Expression (DE) and Single Cell RNA-Seq - sponsored by New Mexico INBRE and NCGR - Virtual
  • Oct 10-14, 2022 - Differential Gene Expression Workshop - Learn now to use the UNIX command line, analytical workflows and public tools to independently analyze sequencing data, plus how to visualize and render data using graphing tools. This workshop covers analyzing RNA-Seq data using popular DE tools. Applications due Sept 20. Apply here.
  • Oct 17-21, 2022 - Single Cell Workshop - A typical RNA sequencing experiment captures transcriptional changes at the bulk tissue level representing a heterogenous mixture of cells and providing an aggregated expression result. By performing RNA sequencing on isolated single cells, one can pinpoint cellular expression and consider genome sequences from individual cells to investigate cell lineage relationships, variability between cells and how a cell functions in its local environment. We will create and import single cell data, and cover topics such as normalization, quality control, dimensionality reduction, visualization, and data interpretation. Applications due Sept 27. Apply here.
