the path that you know to be true for you."

Dear School Community:

It is the dead of winter. Temperatures have vacillated; every other person has a runny nose or cough. We are tired of winter days and anxiously await the arrival of spring.

All that said, there are bright things in each and every day. The light stays out a bit longer in February; if you make a point of looking up at the sky between 5 and 6 pm, you might find your mood perks up, as you realize that the days are getting longer. Some days we can hear the chirping of the birds and know that we will soon be able to rid ourselves of winter garb.

Some other things making me happy right now:

*Our spirit days. On Decade Day, the Legister twins dressed as impeccably as actors in a Broadway production of "Grease." I think they'll remember this through their lives.
*Our ski trip. Coach George has been putting this together for years, and the smiles on our student faces and the sense of community that is enjoyed is well worth it.
*Our first partnership with NORY. I've wanted this robot and science camp for our school for a long while; I believe it will stretch several brains in our student community. I'm delighted we have the interest that we have.
*Our Talent Show on Thursday. This is another delightful evening that showcases the interests and passions of our students and celebrates the goodness of our community.

Good things keep happening at the Academy. I'm grateful for all of the energy and excitement our students bring to daily life.

Kindest Regards,
Ms. Coombs
