Offseason Issue 5

Post-Season Potluck Dinner

Our annual post-season potluck dinner took place on Friday. We had a high turnout and more food than ever before. We had a lot of fun eating and playing cards with our friends from Teams 136 and 747. Thanks to all who attended!

New Scouting App

The strategy subteam has made a web version of the current scouting app using HTML, which will help team members prescout at home. We plan on making similar web apps for future projects. You can view the app at this link.

MidKnight Mayhem

The first offseason competition Team 1257 is attending is MidKnight Mayhem, hosted by Team 1923, The MidKnight Inventors. The event is at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North, in Plainsboro on June 23rd. Transportation is not provided, team members must provide their own transport to attend. Please fill out this form if you can attend. We hope to see you there!

Family Sponsorships

This year, we started a new initiative to give a complimentary T-shirt to each student on the team, ensuring that every student member could attend competition representing Team 1257. We received a record amount of money from family sponsorships, allowing us to achieve this goal. Thank you so much to all of our sponsors, no matter how small; each contribution makes a big difference.

Because the season has ended, the names of new sponsor families will be displayed on the back of next year's team shirts to show our appreciation for their contribution. If you would like to donate, please contact the team at paralleluniverse@team1257.org. For more information about sponsor benefits, view this link.

Community TeamWorks Team Building Event

9:00AM–3:00 PM, June 2nd, 2018

At the Community TeamWorks event, Team 1257 members worked with other event participants, planting 53 new trees in total. This may seem like an easy task, but the participants quickly found out that planting trees takes cooperation and coordination. Not only was it fulfilling work, but our team members had a lot of fun and we hope to work there again in the future.
