Gratitude is a great attitude!
Counting today, there are 10 days between now and Thanksgiving. This is a perfect time to take some moments each day to practice being grateful. It's a simple thing that can change your perception of this holiday, and then, the rest of your life! If you can start a gratitude journal, even better. In it, you can jot down the things that make you happy or draw little sketches of silly happy things (just thinking about that question helps me feel happy and begin to relax). If you have any problems coming up with something, you can start with the animals that share our lives, or somethings as basic as the way we each "just know" how to breathe in and out, have eyes to see, or can feel a gentle touch. There are so many things, thoughts, feelings and ideas to be happy and grateful for. I'm hoping you can each find those parts of your lives that we can celebrate, and so, a gentle challenge to each of you.
Take a few moments right now, and ask yourself "what makes me happy?" Breathing deeply, invite yourself to take those things more deeply into your life right now. Let go of the stress of the day and see if just noticing the good things already present in your life, makes life more fun. Then, breathing out, see if you can relax and smile at yourself. Its easy, free and feels great!
