My gratitude for each of you!
On this Winter Solstice morning, Bodhi and I got up before dawn to welcome the shortest day of the year. We saw a gorgeous multi-colored sunrise and thought about all the blessings in our lives. We thought about each of the special animal and human lives that have touched ours over the past year and realized how much we are looking forward to the year ahead. There were no pictures this morning, as more and more I am going outside without any electronics so I can completely enjoy and savor the present moment.
I also have been following Bodhi's lead, renewing my yoga 8 limbed practice, and remembering to stretch physically, mentally and emotionally, as well as doing yogic breathing and meditation and journaling each and every day. It makes a real difference and I hope you'll each find the time and space to do even a few simple stretches and deep breaths, every single day. Bodhi does!!! :0)
For those of you who may not know, over the last year, I have also been creating more watercolors of more animals for more people. I am taking commissioned painting orders from clients who would like to remember their animals in this way. Here are a couple works in progress- just to give you an idea, this is my current work in progress. I often post my personal paintings on Instagram if you'd like to follow us. https://www.instagram.com/listentotheanimals/
This one above is only partly done - a christmas present for my friend - and I'm going to finish it tonight! Just sharing the secret...shhhhh don't tell her :0)
Orange cats have been making their presence known to me lately!
And so, as the shortest day of the year reaches its zenith, I send each of you blessings of gratitude and endless inner Light, even as the days begin to lengthen and stretch. May we all connect on a deeper level with what is most important to us, and what ultimately frees our soul to be who we truly are.
Much love and light, Karen and Bodhi
