Academic Olympics Tally
Hello Pinetree families! What a great day we had at Academic Olympics on Friday! A bunch of teachers told me how much fun they and their classes had. I had a great day, got a pretty good sunburn, and made money to pay for our fantastic enrichment program. Thanks so much to all our great volunteers for braving the heat to make a difference for all of Pinetree's kids! You all are AWESOME!!! Special thanks to Apryl Reaber for grabbing this bull by the horns and rocking it last minute style!

Below is the tally as of Friday including the points earned by the teams during the Academic Olympic course. There is still time to donate to your student's team and for your kids to earn the fun prizes. Donations will be accepted until Friday, 09/13 at which time the final tally will be determined and the winning color team will be announced. So get those donations in.
The Academic Olympics Fundraising Event is On!
Fliers have gone home and all students were assigned a color team in this school-wide event. Points will be earned for their team through donations (1 point for each dollar sponsored). Each student that receives at least $10 in sponsorship will begin receiving prizes. The more sponsorship's a student receives, the more prizes they will receive (see prize list below). Top prizes include a hand print on our mural wall (for $100 or more in sponsorship) and the student that brings in the most sponsorship will win a family four pack of tickets to Six Flags Magic Mountain and the student that brings in the 2nd most sponsorship will win a pair of tickets. Make sure to ask all your friends and family to help sponsor your Pioneer. We even have a link on our website where out of state family and friends will be able to donate via credit/debit card.
Don't forget if you purchase a spirit bundle during the Academic Olympics, the amount donated will go to your Pioneer's team color and they'll receive the fun prizes listed below based on the tier purchased. More information on Spirit Bundles below.
This event is run in house by the Pinetree PTA to ensure all profits from this fundraiser go directly to our students! Funds raised help us make our first payment for our Music, Art and Drama enrichment classes, pay for Brain Pop for all classrooms, the Reflections art competition, and countless other beginning of the year activities that give our Pinetree Pioneers a well rounded education.

A great way to help your Pioneer get pledges is to post on Social Media so family and friends from afar can pledge too.

Pinetree PTA Annual Ice Cream Social
It's that time of the year for the great Ice Cream Social. It will be taking place on Friday, September 20th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the MPR. It will be following a brief PTA Meeting at 5:30pm. Every PTA member will receive one free sundae. Not a member? You still have time to join or you can join there at the Social to receive your ice cream sundae. You can also bring in 10 boxtops to get a free sundae. Or if you just want to come and socialize, we'll be selling ice cream sundaes for $1. This is such a fun event and we hope to see you there.
Join the Pinetree PTA
As you can see, we have kicked off our Membership drive with a cool "Dino-Mite" theme. Come join the Pinetree PTA and have a voice in your child's education. Please note that joining the PTA doesn't require you to attend the meetings or volunteer although we and your students would LOVE if you did. The Pinetree PTA was able to increase the membership count in the 2018-19 year over the 2017-18 school year. Let's show that we can do it again.
Also, the classes with the most memberships will win some really cool prizes.

Pinetree PTA Spirit Bundles
The Pinetree PTA is happy to bring back Pinetree Spirit Bundles as an easy way you can help donate to the Pinetree PTA. In return for your donation, you’ll receive great goodies and recognition. We have multiple donation tiers to choose from, you can donate on behalf of your family or business name and one of the best parts - your donation is tax deductible. This will help get Pinetree PTA on a great fundraising head start and depending on the tier, you will be able to get everything Pinetree PTA has to offer throughout the school year. Pinetree PTA fundraising provides complete funding for our enrichment classes including art and music instruction, as well as supporting classroom needs, field trips and school wide improvements.

Pinetree PTA Spiritwear
To go with our Dinosaur membership theme, we have some "Dino-Mite" new Spiritwear for the 2019-20 school year. Shirts will be available in green or grey and are 1 for $12 or 2 for $20. New this year - GLITTER PRINT for $1 for $13 or 2 for $22. We'll also have Women's V-Necks with the Glitter Print. Lastly, back from last year with the Pinetree Pioneers logo are the baseball hats, tote bags, pencils, lanyards, key chains and the Pioneer Pete Coonskin Caps. Don't forget to have your Pioneers wear their spiritwear or school colors of green or grey every Friday and show their Pinetree Pioneer Pride! The classes with the most students showing their Pride get recognition from Principal Stilson.

PTA Waivers
Three waivers went home with your students in their welcome packets. It's imperative that we receive those completed forms back ASAP so they can participate in PTA related activities including the upcoming Academic Olympics.
Also, the photo waiver is needed in order for your student to be featured in special pages of the yearbook. If you don't want your child photographed, please make sure to fill out the photo waiver form with "NO" and make sure your student's names are printed clearly on the form. We received several forms back with a "NO" but no student names were listed.

2019-2020 Chair Positions Open
The 2019-20 PTA Board is still recruiting positions for this year. If you're interested in chairing a position, please reach out to us at president@pinetreepta.org
Chair Positions
Spiritwear Trainee: This position will work with our current Spiritwear Chair to learn the process of creating new spiritwear for our students each year, working with the outside vendor and the sales/fulfillment process. This is in hopes of finding someone to take over after next school year.
Treasurer Trainee: This position will work with the current Treasurer to learn the process, counting and bookkeeping for the PTA.
