Celebrations Around The World Event - Friday, December 6th
featuring a visit from Santa, an Aztec Dancers Performance & Book Fair Evening Shopping Hours

Join us for an evening of International festivities as we celebrate holiday traditions around the world. Come on out and enjoy samples of the different foods and learn about the cultures that make up our diverse Pinetree Community. We’ll also have a fun festive performance to enjoy. Refreshments will be served along with fun cultural foods provided by our participants.

This is a fun free event provided by the Pinetree PTA.

What: Pinetree's Annual Celebrations Around the World
When: Friday, December 6th, 2019
Where: Pinetree’s MPR - 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Please consider sharing your families’ heritage by hosting a table at this event!

This is an opportunity to celebrate and learn about the diverse population of families that make up Pinetree. We are hoping to have as many countries represented as possible.

Each country represented will be given a table to showcase their culture. We've had traditional first birthdays, Christmas, Hanukah, just to name a few. It's up to YOU to decide which festive occasion you would like to share or if you just want to host a booth that shares any fun information about your culture, that is great too! We would like you to showcase things like food, games, geographical location, music, traditional clothing, etc. It is an evening filled with music, fun, and a celebration of the different cultures within our school community.

If you wish to host a table, please complete the form (click button below), return it to your student’s teacher or the school office.

The Tick Fire & Pinetree Families Affected
The devastating Tick Fire has shaken our Pinetree Community to the core.  Our thoughts are with the many families effected.   It has been amazing and heart warming to see our community come together to help each other during the evacuations and to help each other pick up the pieces now that we're all back in our homes.  Sadly, we have learned of several Pinetree Families who have lost their homes due to this horrible disaster.  All GoFundMe pages have been vetted by the school and all donations will be going to the families affected.  If you can help, please do.  Also, please share the links on your social media pages to help spread the word to support our Pinetree families.  Our thoughts are with everyone during this difficult time.

The Palos Family - Their two Daughters attend Pinetree in 5th and 2nd grades and their Sequoia Rd home was completely destroyed in the early morning of October 25th.

The Rangel Family - Their daughter attends Pinetree in 6th Grade and their Melia Way home was destroyed on October 24th.

The Molla Family - Their Daughter attends Pinetree in the 1st Grade and their Son is a Pinetree Pioneer promoted.

We also want to share a family who's six year old son attends our sister school Sulphur Springs Community School.  They also sadly lost their home on Sequoia Rd.

Pinetree PTA Spirit Bundles
The Pinetree PTA is happy to bring back Pinetree Spirit Bundles as an easy way you can help donate to the Pinetree PTA.  In return for your donation, you’ll receive great goodies and recognition.  We have multiple donation tiers to choose from, you can donate on behalf of your family or business name and one of the best parts - your donation is tax deductible.  This will help get Pinetree PTA on a great fundraising head start and depending on the tier, you will be able to get everything Pinetree PTA has to offer throughout the school year.  Pinetree PTA fundraising provides complete funding for our enrichment classes including art and music instruction, as well as supporting classroom needs, field trips and school wide improvements.

Big Shout outs to the following Pinetree PTA Supporters:
Diamond Elite:  Isabelle Hefner
Diamond:  The Beard Family, The Laurino Family, Harper Jennings Family & The Godin Family

Join the Pinetree PTA
As you can see, we have kicked off our Membership drive with a cool "Dino-Mite" theme.  Come join the Pinetree PTA and have a voice in your child's education.  Please note that joining the PTA doesn't require you to attend the meetings or volunteer although we and your students would LOVE if you did.  The Pinetree PTA was able to increase the membership count in the 2018-19 year over the 2017-18 school year.  Let's show that we can do it again.
Also, the classes with the most memberships will win some really cool prizes.

Amazon Smile - Holiday Shopping
Do you shop through Amazon?  If so, do it through AmazonSmile and Amazon will donate a percentage of every purchase to Pinetree PTA. AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service. Instead of going directly to the url when shopping, book mark and choose one time that you want to support "Pinetree Community School PTA" and everytime you shop through that link going forward, you're supporting your child's school.  It's as easy as that!

Also, Good news! AmazonSmile is now available in the Amazon Shopping App to all AmazonSmile customers using supported Android devices.

If you are an AmazonSmile customer, you can now support Pinetree Community Elementary PTA in the Amazon shopping app on your Android device! Simply follow these instructions to turn on AmazonSmile and start generating donations.
  1. If you have the latest version of the Amazon Shopping App, open the App on your Android device.
  2. View Settings and select AmazonSmile.
  3. Follow the in-App instructions to complete the process.
If you do not have the latest version of the Amazon Shopping App, update your App. Click here for instructions.

AmazonSmile is not currently available for iOS users. We will notify everyone when it becomes available.
Box Tops Program Changes
There are some BIG changes happening to one of the easiest ways to raise money for Pinetree School. For every Box Top that is turned in, Pinetree earns 10 cents. They add up, and already this year, we have collected almost $200 for our students. However, how you collect Box Tops is going to be changing this yearit is going digital!
Box Tops will slowly transition to no longer printing Box Tops on the packaging of products, that is why it is so important to download the app and start scanning. However, until then, please keep clipping and sending any Box Tops that you may find. We will be earning money for Pinetree both ways.  We suggest anytime you go food shopping, go ahead and scan that receipt in the app.  The app will look at each of the items and do the work for you to see if any of the items qualify for a box top and automatically contribute it to Pinetree.  Please note you have to scan the receipt within 14 days of the purchase.

Because of this change, we'll no longer be able to do classroom contests.  We're working on an overall goal for the school and if we hit that goal - ALL of our student's will receive a fun party prize.  More information on that soon.

Check out the video below for more information on this change:
See how easy it is to earn for your school with the NEW Box Tops App! Watch this how-to video to for a simple, step-by-step explanation of how it works—then give it a try yourself.

To go with our Dinosaur membership theme, we have some "Dino-Mite" new Spiritwear for the 2019-20 school year.  Shirts will be available in green or grey and are 1 for $12 or 2 for $20.  New this year - GLITTER PRINT for $1 for $13 or 2 for $22.  We'll also have Women's V-Necks with the Glitter Print.  Lastly, back from last year with the Pinetree Pioneers logo are the baseball hats, tote bags, pencils, lanyards, key chains and the Pioneer Pete Coonskin Caps.   Click the button below to check them all out on our website.
