NOTICE FROM THE SULPHUR SPRINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT
Dear Sulphur Springs Union School District Families and Staff,
This is Dr. Catherine Kawaguchi, Superintendent. I am calling to inform you that all School and District Office buildings are cleaned and have passed the Environmental Inspection. The District will be open for all students to return to school on Monday, November 4th. We look forward to welcoming your child back to school, and we thank you again for your patience and partnership as we have completed our cleaning and testing process. Thank you.
Fall Catalog Fundraiser
Due to the devastating fires and the school closures, order deadline has been extended to Wednesday, November 13th. Thank you all for your support.
The Annual Pinetree PTA Fall Catalog Fundraiser is back. Catalogs and order forms should be going home soon. Please support the Pinetree PTA by having your child sell items to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. If this fundraiser does well, we will hopefully not have to fund raise the rest of the school year except for those fun Restaurant Nights! All profits raised from this fundraiser go to fund our enrichment programs (art, drama & music), field trips and assemblies.
Important Notes:
All orders are due on Wednesday, November 13th and orders will be delivered no later than the first week of December.
As your child sells items, make sure to sign and turn in the items sold coupons to the office or their teacher so they can start receiving the fun charm prizes.
Besides the fun prizes listed on the envelope, kids who sell 10 or more items will get to attend an exclusive Magic Show just for them in the MPR later this year.

Online Shop Information:
There is a separate brochure in your fundraiser envelope that details how your student can create an online shop so your friends and families can shop online.
Pinetree's Program ID# is 59996. Make sure to register and get your unique link so you student's receive credit for their sales. You can also send emails out to friends and families directly from the site.
Over 600 items are on the site for friends and family to purchase.
They can pay via VISA/Mastercard/American Express and choose to have the items shipped to the school for your students to deliver (free) or pay to have the items delivered directly to their door. Any purchases $75 or over receive free shipping.
The Tick Fire & Pinetree Families Affected
The devastating Tick Fire has shaken our Pinetree Community to the core. Our thoughts are with the many families effected. It has been amazing and heart warming to see our community come together to help each other during the evacuations and to help each other pick up the pieces now that we're all back in our homes. Sadly, we have learned of two Pinetree Families who have lost their homes due to this horrible disaster. The PTA and School Staff are working with the families and we'll be sharing information soon on how physical donations can be collected to help these families get back onto their feet.
In the meantime, two GoFundMe pages have been setup for both Pinetree families. All GoFundMe pages have been vetted and all donations will be going to the families affected. If you can help, please do. Also, please share the links on your social media pages to help spread the word to support our Pinetree families.

Pinetree PTA Spirit Bundles You have until NOVEMBER 8TH to buy a Spirit Bundle (Platinum or higher) to earn the Academic Olympic Prizes and the Handprint on our new mural wall which will be added to the MPR in this winter.
The Pinetree PTA is happy to bring back Pinetree Spirit Bundles as an easy way you can help donate to the Pinetree PTA. In return for your donation, you’ll receive great goodies and recognition. We have multiple donation tiers to choose from, you can donate on behalf of your family or business name and one of the best parts - your donation is tax deductible. This will help get Pinetree PTA on a great fundraising head start and depending on the tier, you will be able to get everything Pinetree PTA has to offer throughout the school year. Pinetree PTA fundraising provides complete funding for our enrichment classes including art and music instruction, as well as supporting classroom needs, field trips and school wide improvements.

Join the Pinetree PTA As you can see, we have kicked off our Membership drive with a cool "Dino-Mite" theme. Come join the Pinetree PTA and have a voice in your child's education. Please note that joining the PTA doesn't require you to attend the meetings or volunteer although we and your students would LOVE if you did. The Pinetree PTA was able to increase the membership count in the 2018-19 year over the 2017-18 school year. Let's show that we can do it again.
Also, the classes with the most memberships will win some really cool prizes.
Please note there is a glitch on the online payment site that shows a convenience fee will be added to your transaction. When you get to the cart to make final payment, that fee will be removed. They are working to fix this glitch.

Box Tops Program Changes
There are some BIG changes happening to one of the easiest ways to raise money for Pinetree School.For every Box Top that is turned in, Pinetree earns 10cents. They add up, and already this year, we have collectedalmost$200 forourstudents.However, how you collect BoxTopsis goingtobechangingthisyear…it is going digital!
BoxTopswill slowlytransitionto nolongerprinting Box Tops on the packagingof products,thatis whyitis soimportant to download the app and startscanning. However, untilthen,please keep clipping and sending anyBox Tops that youmayfind. Wewillbe earning money for Pinetreebothways. We suggest anytime you go food shopping, go ahead and scan that receipt in the app. The app will look at each of the items and do the work for you to see if any of the items qualify for a box top and automatically contribute it to Pinetree. Please note you have to scan the receipt within 14 days of the purchase.
Because of this change, we'll no longer be able to do classroom contests. We're working on an overall goal for the school and if we hit that goal - ALL of our student's will receive a fun party prize. More information on that soon.

Pinetree PTA Spiritwear
To go with our Dinosaur membership theme, we have some "Dino-Mite" new Spiritwear for the 2019-20 school year. Shirts will be available in green or grey and are 1 for $12 or 2 for $20. New this year - GLITTER PRINT for $1 for $13 or 2 for $22. We'll also have Women's V-Necks with the Glitter Print. Lastly, back from last year with the Pinetree Pioneers logo are the baseball hats, tote bags, pencils, lanyards, key chains and the Pioneer Pete Coonskin Caps. Don't forget to have your Pioneers wear their spiritwear or school colors of green or grey every Friday and show their Pinetree Pioneer Pride! The classes with the most students showing their Pride get recognition from Principal Stilson.
