Kids’ Classes at The Makery — and Pick & Choose Creative Camp Week
This year, we’re doing our Creative Camp a little differently. It will be a series of 5 classes during the week of June 18-22, with a class every morning from 10 a.m. to Noon. As the name implies, you and your child can pick and choose which day or days your child would like to attend (anywhere from one day to all five). We’re offering backstrap weaving with a rigid heddle, upcycled papermaking, bookbinding (pamphlet stitch), felted soap and beads, and spinning yarn on a drop spindle.
We are also doing a series we’re calling Monday Mornings at The Makery, over the course of several Mondays during June and July. You’ll find classes for kids in kumihimo (Japanese braiding), magic wand making, basic crochet, and bookbinding (Japanese stab binding).
For all of our kids’ classes this summer, the price is $20 each, or $15 each when registering for 3 or more classes at once (per child or per family). The classes are intended for kids ages 10 to 16 (but if you have a child who is 8 or 9 and very good with her or his hands, talk to us for permission before registering). Space is limited to 8 kids per class, so be sure to register soon!
