Save a child's life!

You can protect schoolchildren in Africa...

In 2011, one lightning strike killed 18 children and injured 38 at Runyanya Primary School in Uganda. Enrollment dropped because children were afraid to attend school. In 2016, with donations from people like you, Runyanya school was protected from lightning and children returned to their classrooms, free from fear of lightning and ready to learn.
Enrollment doubled to over 800.

Help us to protect more children!

Since 2016, more schools have been protected and ACLENet is setting up lightning safety education programs throughout Uganda. Uganda's Ministry of Education has sought ACLENet's assistance with lightning protection (LP) for the new schools they are building. NGO's have asked for our help to protect schools they sponsor and volunteer LP experts are helping us to decrease the costs of LP by using locally sourced materials instead of expensive imports and by designing templates for typical school buildings that we can use across Africa.

Thank you for your generous support.

We could not do this life-saving work without you!!
