Dear Alumnae, Parents and Friends of Seton,

The Lord has certainly blessed the Seton community.  Next week, we will celebrate Thanksgiving and pause in grateful appreciation for all the amazing gifts we have received in our lives.  Sometimes, it is so easy to see these gifts; in the smiles and laughter of our students, in the dedication and passion that our faculty and staff bring to our school and in the pride and faith of our entire community.

In times of grief and struggle we turn to the Lord for the strength that we need to move on and we cling to our belief that God is in control and watching over us, even when we question all that is happening around us.  This past week the Seton community was tested.  We experienced the loss of three loving, incredible women who were a part of our family. We witnessed such incredible moments of grief and pain, but we also saw the love of the Lord come shining in on our community through the outpouring of love and support of those around us.

Much like the rainbow that shined over Seton a few weeks ago, God’s light and love radiated through us in our time of need. Thank you for all your prayers for our students, staff and families. In times of need it is so comforting to know we have our faith and we have each other to help us endure.  Please continue to keep our students and the entire Seton community in your prayers.
This week we called upon the words of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton time and again, “Meet your grace and leave the rest to God.”

Wishing you and your family the grace, peace and joy of Thanksgiving.

We held a special prayer service this morning to pray for the families of three women in the Seton community who passed away within the past week. Our hearts are very heavy as we lift up the family and friends of each of these women who were mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts and friends. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of Jen Flick, Debby Anania Smith '87 and Beth Brauntz Wittich '99 and pray for comfort and healing.
