Solo workshop with Kim Porter
Every Sunday from 6:30-9:30pm
$15 per session

Do you need something meaningful to do between acting gigs? Do you have a story you are itching to tell? Let award-winning writer/performer Kim Porter help you make that happen at the Solo Workshop.

This workshop is designed to help participants generate new material, support projects already in development, and offer accountability in a relaxed and generous small group environment.

The Solo Workshop is designed to meet the participant where they are and is therefore ideal for both beginners and established writer-performers. Because the Solo Workshop is employing an on-going, drop-in model for participation, artists can work at their own pace and budget.

For more information about the Solo Workshop contact Kim Porter at

Featured Performer: Andrew Hadder
Andrew started taking classes about two years ago and has been performing for 18 months. He grew up on Comedy Central and sketch shows. He became interested in improv through Comedy Bang Bang and was inspired by Paul F. Tompkins, Andy Daly, Lauren Lapkus, Thomas Middleditch. Locally he inspired by Jacque Arend, Stacey Hanlon, Javier Gilmore and Dave Specht.
Andrew enjoys finding the game of the scene and getting in the mindset of his characters to learn about their world. The best thing about improvising is that it acts a conduit between you and another level of thinking. Andrew says improv doesn't always have to be funny but it should always be fun.

Favorite quote/advice from a coach/instructor:
Maybe you should try performing without the backwards hat - Jacque Arend

Featured Performer: Andrew Bernier
Andrew started improvising at 18 and has been performing for 15 years. Some of his influences have been Robin Williams, Patrick Warburton, H. Jon Benjamin. His style of play involves emphasizing physical expression and use of space. Although he likes the absurd he tries to bring it from a place of "smart" topics like science and culture. Andrew/s favorite part of improv is trust. Trust first in his scene partner and also trusting in the first thing that comes to mind. Andrew believes improv has helped him improve his public speaking, quick problem solving, being resourceful, teaching and practicing empathy. In addition improv has also helped him make good friends and he gets to play like a kid. He thinks improv just makes us better people.

Favorite quote/advice from a coach/instructor:
Shut up - in a polite way. They helped him to enjoy the silence and to express himself through his body and face.

You can see Andrew perform with:
Zombie Gourmet every 1st Saturday
Featured team every first Saturday

Zombie Gourmet

Cast: Alexander Davers, Andrew Bernier, Eric Storie, Jackie Rich and Liz Hutchman

Zombie Gourmet dishes up an organic buffet of brainy bits, relying on flexibility, support, high energy and feeding off of each other to shape their shows.

Composed of stylistically diverse and dynamic troupe members, well seasoned like hand-me-down cast iron, ZG marches ceaselessly toward the lights in their ravenous pursuit of comedy.

Long form full of bizarre worlds, pulsating organs, and lightly braised transitions, the Zombie Gourmet format explores the soft, fleshy, delicious parts of improv.
