Hello CRYC members,

Spring finally arrived and I'm sure we are all busy with lawns, boats, and much more now that the weather finally turned nice. The Club opened up last weekend with our Opening Day work party led by Mike Hollis. We got a tremendous amount done in a short time thanks to so many volunteers. Look for his report below. As part of Opening Day, we have changed the front gate and bathroom combinations, which are available to all members who have paid their dues; look on the back of your membership card. If you've paid dues and not received a card, we will gladly give you a new card at the Semi-Annual Meeting tomorrow. Gather time starts at 3pm. If you have a friend or family that is interested in the Club, feel free to bring them to the social and meeting tomorrow.

During the Winter, the Board of Directors was busy thinking about and finalizing a couple of new policies for Camping and Wedding events. Details are on the webpage now, but you'll here more at the Semi-Annual Meeting. We still need to finalize our policy for checking out Club boats.

We will have another work party in May to prepare Club boats for the season to include the Junior Sailing Camps. We could really use some extra hands during this work party so please keep this in mind. An announcement will come out soon.

See you all around the Club!

Opening day work party: Thanks to all who showed up.  There was a nice breeze and warm temps to keep everyone comfortable. We began just prior to 8 am and were finished by 1 pm.

Your sweat contributions to the club will not go unnoticed!  In fact, thanks to Bob Gerber and Joe Della Barba, we have photos!

The following tasks were tabled until a later time:  Wash/wax rig club boats, repair dock, install Wx station.

Boats on Trailers:  Just as we did last year with canoes and kayaks, we moved all boats in the back shrub line to allow for mowing.  We reconfirmed that many of the boats and trailers have been abandoned, neglected or not maintained in working condition.  Several of the trailers had tires that were in fact rotted off the rims.  Boats had rodents living and plants growing inside them.   If you are an owner of a boat or trailer in the shrub line please identify yourself and tell us that you intend to either remove or maintain the item.   If you intend to keep the item please move it back into the shrub line (now mowed).  Ensure that you are to the left of the pavilion and utilities hump behind the pavilion or you will collapse the drainage field.  Any item that is not in the shrub line by October closing will be disposed of by the club as best see fit.  Anything stored in the shrub line needs to be maintained.
Speed Limit: We have now posted speed limit signs along the access road.  Please observe the posted speed limit and feel free to encourage others to observe it too.  You are all now deputized.
