Happy Thanksgiving- I’ll keep this short.

Your board of directors has been busy this fall setting a budget and reviewing potential 2020 calendar events.  We will set the calendar in February for a good portion of the year. We will kickoff 2020 with a brunch at Doc’s.   Thanks to Gail Owings for putting that together.  Frostbite sailing continues with a light but robust turnout.  Nick Place is running a great and safe regatta series – you should come enjoy the grounds and racing on any nice Sunday from now until March.  For info on this and all Club activities please continue to read below.

Have a safe and fun holiday

We are moving to a different online payment program for paying dues this year as the costs associated with PayPal were excessive.  Of course we would prefer a check in the mail.  Mail to:

Corsica River Yacht Club PO box 24, 589 Conquest Rd. Centreville, Maryland 21617.

As a reminder dues are $250 and an additional $25 if you have a kayak rack.

The board approved a budget of $22,500.  This includes fixed costs of approx. 19K and discretionary spending to conduct the following projects-

Automatic External Defibulator (AED) upgrades

Club fleet maintenance

Grounds maintenance

Septic pump

Communications upgrades

Rewiring Fans / lights for better access

Race Committee training

Storage room enclosed storage upgrades

Dues may either be paid on the CRYC website or via postal mail:
P.O. Box 24
Centreville, Maryland 21617

John Friel and Gayle Jayne

Note that by writing a check you can save the club various fees associated with online payments.

As winter sets in please do not drive past an imaginary line running from the pavilion to the school shed because it will become boggy.  Members will be held responsible for repairing any damage to the grounds.

As we enter the winter season please double check ensure that your boats are properly secured to their racks or trailers to avoid a blowing boat situation.
