Report from the IACR Board of Directors
28 December 2020
Dear IACR Members and Colleagues,
We would like to provide you with the following important updates on the Association following the meeting of the Board of Directors' meeting held on 30 November 2020.
- Planned global virtual meeting in 2021. IACR will organize a global virtual conference to take the place of its annual scientific conference for 2021. The activity is planned for mid-2021 and more details will be shared by early 2021. We hope for wide participation from our members and registry colleagues in building and in the holding of this activity.
- IACR Treasurer turn-over. Dr Stefano Rosso, who served as IACR Treasurer from 2014 to 2020, handed-over the role of IACR Treasurer to Dr Rob Verhoeven (IKNL, the Netherlands). IACR expresses its deep gratitude and appreciation for the challenging responsibility taken on by Stefano as IACR Treasurer over the years. We officially welcome and thank Rob for taking on the role, following IACR nomination and confirmation by the Board of Directors in 2019. IACR is in process to move its fiscal address from Italy to France (through registration as an association).
- IACR 2020 elections. In view of the unusual and daunting circumstances this year for most registries, the IACR 2020 Nomination Committee faced difficulties in their task of getting candidates for the posts. This situation has been reported to the IACR Board who recommended deferring the IACR elections to 2022, when the next face-to-face IACR scientific conference and Board of Directors' meeting is expected to resume. The Board will welcome feedback from the membership regarding the postponement prior to confirming this decision in January 2021.
- Other activities and developments and new initiatives were likewise planned and discussed, these will soon be posted on the IACR website.
As IACR members, we would like to have your feedback and input with regard to the above items. Please send these through the IACR Secretariat, email@example.com.
We take this time as well to send you our appreciation for your continued support and involvement especially throughout this very challenging year. Please accept our sincere wishes for a wonderful holiday season.
