From Mrs. Hrousis:
I write this announcement with many emotions. More than any other, I feel profound gratitude for the love and support I have received over the past 9 ½ years as the director of St. Nicholas Academy. During my time here I have been blessed to watch children grow, develop, and reach milestones. I have had the honor of building strong connections with our families that I know will last a lifetime. I have had the privilege of working with amazing people both at school and in the church, who are like family to me. Together, we have accomplished many wonderful things and watched the school develop and grow into the incredible learning environment that it is today.
After much thought, prayer, and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to retire from education at the end of this school year. This decision is only made easier knowing that the work we have all done together will continue. I know in my heart that our clergy, parish council, church community, and the teachers will continue to support each other and work together to achieve the mission and the vision of St. Nicholas Academy.
With time to prepare and transition, our school will be under the interim leadership of the very experienced Mrs. Carmen Saemmer, who has already served the Academy for 17 years as a caring and committed leader. With the assistance of Fr. Alexandros and our incredible teachers, our students will be in good hands.
The Academy will always hold an incredibly special place in my heart, and I will continue to support the school and the staff in an advisory role.
Thank you for the immense privilege it has been to serve as Director of St. Nicholas Academy.
-Mrs. Despina Hrousis
