2021 Stewardship Guide

The
Weekend Update

St. Nicholas, Bethlehem, PA

Gospel: "For the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost." Read here.
In This Update:
Dear <<First Name (Όνομα)>>,

We've got a favor to ask!

One of the things that makes our community so special is the feeling of belonging and connection.  Admittedly, these intangibles have been challenged this past year.

Here's our request - would you call a church friend today?  It can be anyone, but preferably someone you haven't spoken to lately.

Staying connected will get us through this tough time!

Your Clergy,
Fr. Nicholas & Fr. Alexey

New Ministry!

St Nicholas Prayer Chain

Many people wish they could help others in their time of need, even if only to pray for them.  Those who join this group will be emailed the prayer requests of those who ask for the parish group to pray for them.
To submit a prayer request, email it to fralexandros@stnicholas.org.  Make sure to mention it is for the email prayer chain, and only include the details you wish to be shared.
Join Prayer Chain Here
Note about privacy:  Prayer requests may not always come with an explanation.  A parishioner may prefer privacy.  These emails are sacred, and not meant to spread parish gossip.  Requests will be simplified and may simply read “Please pray for a woman who’s moving into long-term care on Monday.” Or “Add Maria to the prayer list.”  Please do not contact the clergy for additional details about requests.

Hot Off The Press

This year instead of doing a hoagie sale, the St. Nicholas GOYA has decided to extend a helping hand to the restaurants that have supported our parish over the years with donations of food and sponsorships.  As we all know, restaurants have taken the brunt of the COVID pandemic with respect to their business.  So, the St. Nicholas GOYA encourages you to visit or place a take-out order from local, parishioner-owned restaurants on February 7th (Super Bowl Sunday). We will hand out a list of those restaurants in church, and publish it in an upcoming Weekend Update.

When you call to order please say you are from St. Nicholas!  Thank you so much and please stay safe!

- Marina P. (GOYA President)

Take a self-evaluation here!

IS OUR CHURCH IN YOUR WILL?

A beautiful way to honor God is to remember St Nicholas Cathedral in your Will.  It is the ultimate expression of gratitude for all the blessings God and His Church have bestowed on you and your family.

In doing this, you also enable our parish to continue growth and development of programs that teach and inspire our children and future leaders, help those in need, and preserve the Orthodox Christian faith, by carrying on its sacred ministry of love, hope and faith.

If you are so inspired, please contact Fr. Alexandros (fralexandros@stnicholas.org) to discuss including the church in your Estate Planning or leaving a specific legacy gift.

For what you give in this lifetime is yours for eternity!
