M4A wants to remind consumers of all ages at all stages to START WITH M4A! We are the first place to contact to get help, information, and resources. Our Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) Specialists are always here to help!

M4A is needing to re-order our Project Life Connect red pouches. The red pouch is placed in the home on the refrigerator, so in case of an emergency, first responders have all the medical information they need to assist the patient.

The Shelby County Sheriff Office has very graciously provided financial support for this initiative over the last several months. M4A is looking for a business or organization who is interested in providing financial support and we will include your logo on the front pouch along with our M4A logo. This program is a great way to help people AND help you market your services.

Older Americans Act (OAA) State Program Performance Report (SPR) Redesign: Technical Documentation

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has recently completed redesigning the Older Americans Act (OAA) State Program Performance Report (SPR) and has almost finished development of a new, web-based tool for submission of those data.

The Older Americans Act Performance System (OAAPS) will be the new reporting tool the Administration for Community Living (ACL)/Administration on Aging (AoA) uses to monitor performance and collect information on Older Americans Act (OAA) Title III, VI (Chapters 3 and 4 grants) and VII programs.

States and Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) will be able to submit their annual performance report data on OAA program participants, services, and expenditures either through uploading data files (based on a template to be provided by ACL) or entering directly inputting data into OAAPS. The system is expected to be completed in early 2019.

FIDGET ACTIVITY LAP BLANKET UPDATE

M4A wants to give a large SHOUT OUT to the Columbiana Senior Center and their two Sewing Clubs who are working diligently to sew and make available the Alzheimer's Fidget Activity Lap Blankets. M4A visited the group yesterday to thank them in person and drop off some of the donations.

M4A also wants to give a big SHOUT OUT to the Chelsea Community Center. Their center participants have donated a large amount of various items that will be sewed onto each lap blanket and their donations keep coming in!

M4A will be distributing the lap blankets to the clients with the greatest need to receive them. If you know someone who can benefit from receiving a lap blanket, please contact M4A at 205-670-5770.
