Daylight Saving Time comes to an end this weekend.

DST ends Sunday, Nov. 4, so you should set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. The change officially comes at 2 a.m. local time on the first Sunday in November.

DST started March 11, 2018. It will restart on March 10, 2019.

Sunday’s change means sunrise and sunset will be about one hour earlier on Nov. 4 than it was the day before, meaning there will be more daylight in the morning hours.
M4A is needing to reorder our Project Life Connect red pouches. AARP has graciously partnered with us to provide financial support AND M4A is seeking one more financial sponsor. This is a wonderful tool for individuals to have in case of an emergency AND also a great way for you to get your company/organization logo and information out to thousands of consumers!

In recognition of National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month AND National Family Caregiver Month, M4A is working with our partners to launch a special campaign during the month of November. We are working with a few key partners and the University of Montevallo to create three short videos this month.  We are excited to share them as soon as they become available.

Case Manager, Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging Job Title: Case Manager for Medicaid Elderly and Disabled (E&D) Waiver Program
 
Job Location: Central Region (Blount, Chilton, Shelby, St Clair and Walker counties)
 
Job Status: Full-time - Exempt
 
Job Description: Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging is seeking qualified candidates for a Medicaid Waiver Case Manager position. Potential candidates should understand ethical behavior and business practices; be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships; communicate effectively; and foster teamwork. Ability to drive an automobile, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain automobile liability insurance is required.
 
  • Case load of up to 40  - overseeing the service delivery of MWS programs benefits
  • Monthly face visits in clients’ homes (and hospital if client is admitted)
  • Oversee and document the service delivery of the MWS Elderly and Disable Waiver
  • Arrange for services through contractors and serve as a liaison with other social service agencies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, program specific software, and general office procedures/equipment.
 
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology or related field. Preferred past experience in social work, especially the geriatric population.
