Advent Calendars, Wine Events & New Arrivals

Before we tell you about two pre-Christmas wine tasting events we have coming up in the next two weeks, a quick reminder that we are taking orders for our first ever advent calendar until the end of this week.

The calendar is something of a love letter to some of our favourite brewers & producers (spoiler – there are a couple of non-beer drinks in there). We guarantee there are some very special drinks within!

Kiffe My Wines, Tuesday 27 Nov (7-9pm)
at Browns of Brockley

“The French slang ‘kiffe’ means ‘to be really crazy about something’”

A little short notice on this one, but we guarantee this is worth twice the admission fee! Jimmy Taffola, aka Kiffe My Wines, has been bringing new wines to the UK from small, ethically minded producers since 2016. He will be pouring five small batch & exceptional quality French wines - 3 sparkling, 1 red (of his own making) and 1 sweet. The sparkling wines, in particular, would make for some very special Christmas drinking & gifting.

Not all of these wines are available to buy in the shop, although we will be able to take orders at the event, with a 10% discount.

Jimmy works with farmers that work the land to high standards and follow organic/biodynamic principles. They respect the environment and promote biodiversity in their land.

This tasting will feature wines from:

- Monsieur S (Limoux)
- Timothée Stroebel (Champagne)
- Les Fréres Soulier (Côte du Rhône) feat. Kiffe My Wines
- Pierre Mernard (Anjou)

Tickets £12.50 (limited due to space)
Christmas Wines with Les Caves de Pyrene
Wednesday 5th Dec (7-9pm)
at Browns of Brockley

Festive suggestions from the UK’s leading importer of low intervention wines

We have worked with Maddie at Les Caves de Pyrene since opening Salthouse Bottles and we can thank her for helping  shape our wine offering from the outset and for introducing us to some of our now-favourite natural producers.

This tasting will feature a selection of delicious, quality low intervention wines chosen by Maddie and ourselves for the Christmas table, including sparkling, white, red and dessert wine. These wines are all available to buy in the shop and can be pre-ordered for Christmas. 10% discount on orders of 6+ bottles.

Tickets £10.00 (limited due to space)

We have put together two different 6-bottle selections for the Christmas period. Both include fantastic cuvées from our favourite independent producers and feature shining examples of low intervention wine-making, at a saving of over 10%.

Each selection contains x1 sparkling, x2 white, x2 red and x1 dessert wine.

Order in-store, or click the button below to send us an email.

Two cans from a start-up brewery in Reading we've been following with interest. Double-Barrelled are born of a homebrewing obsession, a research journey through 29 countries and a burned-down wedding venue.
They specialise in sours and stouts, so we've ordered one of each - a milk stout and a raspberry & beetroot gose. These are some of the very earliest cans to have made it to London and we are one of only a few stockists.

More Verdant
They eventually arrived on Saturday afternoon! Mary Lou, Even Sharks and Lightbulb all fresh from the brewery and in the fridge right now.

Pressure Drop First Ever Cans!
2 different IPAs from the same base recipe - one NEIPA and one Brut IPA. Expecting big things in can from one of our top breweries this past year.

Stigbergets x Magic Rock
One of the best Scandinavian breweries invited Huddersfield's finest over to their place and together they've squeezed a hazy, juicy IPA into a can.

Five Points
In bottle, a seasonal return for one of the best UK hoppy red ales money can buy (Hook Island) and a modern classic London Porter (Railway Porter); and in can, their new core range juicy pale (JUPA) and the ever-brilliant extra pale, XPA.
