Taming the Middle School Anxiety Beast!

Middle school students are a difficult group to understand. Any educator who has had the privilege and challenge of working with this age group knows exactly what I am referring to. And now I have two grandchildren in middle school!

The first month of school has passed here in Central New York. During that time, I have seen again first-hand how exciting and fearful it can be for our children. Parents feel these emotions as well, and many just don’t know what to do to help. In many cases, students will now have multiple teachers, need to learn the routines of a new building, be able to choose after-school activities, and confront increasingly complex social situations.
