October 30, 2022

Friends,

I hope this update finds you doing well, and that you and your family have a safe and fun Halloween.

This update will be short, and I intend on combining the November and December updates together in one newsletter, as things usually slow down towards the end of the year.

Elections

Early voting is currently taking place. You may vote at the county offices on Pine Street in Walhalla from 8:30 AM — 6:00 PM through Saturday November 5 (closed on Sundays).

Think your vote doesn’t matter? Look no further than our recent county elections. Julian Davis narrowly won his reelection by 37 votes in 2020 and Don Mize defeated his opponent in the 2022 June Republican primaries by a mere 18 votes. So please, take the time to vote.

Free Smoke Detectors

With colder weather on the way and many in our community turning to wood and kerosene heaters to warm their homes, David Mcmahan and the Oconee County Conservatives are providing free smoke detectors to the elderly and to low income families. If you or someone you know needs a smoke detector, please reply to this email, or call/text me at 864-567-6358
