MHM is excited to open for clients on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00-11:30am. This will allow working clients to shop and working volunteers and students to come in and lend a hand who otherwise were unable. This is only possible with the help of volunteers, so please come on down to help or spread the word!

Sign Up to Serve
Want to volunteer? Great! MHM now uses a site called SignUp.com to organize all of our volunteer shifts. If you plan to volunteer (either on a regular basis or only once in a while), we ask that you go onto SignUp.com and enter the dates that you plan to work. More than $14,000 raised for Mothers Helping Mothers
Mothers Helping Mothers received $6,460 from 73 donors, plus a match amount of $7,770 this year from the Giving Challenge! Thats more than $14,100 in funds to help our families in need. The 2016 Challenge in total, raised $13,386,909, from 63,567 individual donations for local charities. We can't thank our donors enough for their amazing turn out. THANK YOU!!!
450 Free Backpacks Given Out
Once again, MHM held a successful school supply distribution event. This year we were able to help 450 children start the school year out right by supplying them with backpacks and school supplies. Many thanks to our valued MHM volunteers who helped organize and hand out the supplies. An extra big thank you to the Tiny Hands Foundation and Sarasota Memorial Hospital for supplying us with backpacks and supplies!
Summer Fun Fair -- Success
In June, MHM hosted it's first Summer Family Fun Event. This fun and free event was designed to encourage families to have fun during the summer while keeping kids' minds engaged and learning. All of the activities could be reproduced at home using supplies that can be found around the house or purchased inexpensively. In addition, eight local agencies were on site to talk with parents about resources available to Sarasota and Manatee county families.
It Takes a Village
What we need most? The #1 most common question posed to us at MHM is “what do you need the most to help the families in our area?” You might be surprised to find that the answer is not clothing or used dishes, stuffed animals or shoes, but it is your time. We have been so blessed with the generosity of our community that our store and storage areas are full to the brim with donations. The struggle we have now, is sorting all these wonderful donations and getting them out on the floor for our clients.

We are always in need of large baby items such as cribs, strollers, car seats and high chairs and children’s clothing sizes 4T – 16.
We Love Our Neighbors!
MHM is a busy place on Tuesdays and Fridays and we want to thank our neighbors, Dex Imaging and Cap World for their patience and understanding when we have a busy client day. Both of these businesses have been willing to work with us and understand how important it is to provide assistance to our local families.
