HOT & TRENDING

OUTLOOK IN THE FUTURE
Barely a fifth of European Millennials are content with their countries's situation as a result of economic stagnation. No wonder some of them despair about the future, however, it may also be a cultural phenomena as European Millennials have a feeling of having  no impact on the world. On the other hand, American Millennials believe they have control over their future and their fate. Maybe we've got something to learn from our cross-Atlantic neighbor here?

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
When we tell stories about the differences between generations we always rely on statistics that create trends "Millennials are less religious! Or they're risk-averse!". Millennials are willing to reshape the economy; their experiences will change the ways businesses buy and sell because they are more conscious and more likely to evaluate a product. On the other hand, Millennials tended to describe their generation as "greedy", and "wasteful" rather than "moral", "patriotic", or "willing to sacrifice".

TIPS & TRICKS

DO WHAT YOU LOVE, DON'T STOP UNTIL YOU GET WHAT YOU LOVE!
As human beings, it's a fact that we are different from one another. Carol Dweck in her research "Mindset: The New Psychology of Success" found out that are two types of mindsets; a "fixed" one that strives for success and to avoid failure and a "growth" one that thrives on challenge and sees failure as an opportunity to grow. It creates a passion for learning rather than a hunger for approval.

MILLENNIALS ARE OFTEN JUDGED AND MISUNDERSTOOD

Yes it's completely true; the youngest generation differs from the older ones. But this has always been like that.  An article written by McKinsey&Company claims that nowadays, mindsets are changing more and more all the technology,  access to information, etc.
But can everyone born between 1980 and 2000 be characterised by the same characteristics?

Why do most companies complain about the so-colled "millennials"? It can be a rhetorical question, however, McKinsey article focuses on what they can do in order to change the working environment for the "lazy" or the "hyperconnected".

What can companies improve? Creating an environment that is fresh, dynamic, a workplace where young employees can be energised by rotational programs. As an example, programmes at Synchrony Financial included mentoring for senior leaders, crossfunctional work, and community service - ideas that millennials value. Furthermore, many young professionals want to work in a company that is creative about individual and self realisation. Millennials also enjoy to "flex their entrepreneurial muscles"!
