Children’s Story Time
Starting Friday 18 May and continuing on the third Friday of each month thereafter, Desire Books and Records will host ‘Tell Me a Story’ at 10:30am. This is specifically designed for the kids who aren’t at school or kindy, to attend with their mums (or dads/grannies/nannies/au pairs/governesses/fairy godmothers), with stories, sing-a-longs and some audience participation.
If you’ve got a child, or know someone else who does, who’d be interested, please let them know. (And let us know if they/you are coming.)
Carrie - Under the Same Sun

Date: Friday 18th May
Entry by Donation
Carrie is a singer/songwriter and musician (saxophone/guitar) who released her first studio album in 2017: Under the Same Sun (check out the Facebook page for more info!)
Carrie creates heart and soul prayer songs aimed to inspire, bring hope and connect us to the things that matter most. Inspired by her own experience, her work and diverse encounters with people around the world, Carrie writes about the themes of life – from human trafficking; abuse; home and belonging; gratitude and grace; ritual and ceremony; being marginalised and on the edge; suffering and hope; to faith and unity; and love and surrender.
Carrie is also a photographer with an avid interest in all of the arts for expression, healing, social action and change. Her music is informed by her work as an Arts Psychotherapist with Ragamuffin International/Cambodia (est. 1999) where she is Co-Founder/Director of Arts Therapy Services. Carrie is an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist, qualified trainer, supervisor and consultant.
Carrie’s passion for music has resulted in a collaboration with Euan Gray and the creation of Songkites, a ground-breaking therapeutic music project that nurtures creative expression, leadership and community through songwriting, production and performance with young people in Cambodia and post-conflict contexts around the world. For more information, get online and check out the Songkites website.
