*NEW* Nondirective Counseling and Referral Job Aid

This job aid presents the nondirective pregnancy options counseling and referrals that Title X grantees must adhere to, in alignment with the 2021 final rule, "Ensuring Access to Equitable, Affordable, Client-Centered, Quality Family Planning Services." Title X grantees can also use the Nondirective Counseling and Referral Sample Policy Template, which can be modified. Both tools are part of the Establishing and Providing Effective Referrals for Clients Toolkit, which supports Title X grantees’ ability to provide effective referrals to meet the needs of their clients. Resources to Support Family Planning Staff 

Recent changes to the policy landscape and the ongoing pandemic continue to challenge resiliency as well as staff retention among Title X staff. The resources below can help address these challenges:

Analysis Plan for Evaluating Program Impacts and Implementation—Archived Webinar 
[50 minutes]

This archived webinar provided an opportunity for TPP Tier 2 Phase II grantees to prepare for January 2023 semi-annual reporting on their rigorous evaluations. Mathematica staff offered guidance for completing analysis plans and facilitated an interactive Q&A session to address grantee priorities for this reporting period. Watch the recording.

An Overview of the 2021 Title X Family Planning Program Regulations 
January 31, 2023 at 3–4pm ET

On October 4, 2021, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Population Affairs (OPA) amended the Title X Family Planning regulations to provide access to equitable, affordable, client-centered, quality family planning services for more people. The 2021 regulations replaced the 2019 regulations and readopted the 2000 regulations with a number of important updates. Join the RHNTC for a webinar reviewing key changes between the 2019 and 2021 regulations, including reinstatement of the requirement to provide nondirective pregnancy options counseling. We will also review new provisions in the 2021 regulations that expand access, quality, and equity.

This webinar is intended for staff working in Title X-funded settings, whether you are new to the Title X program or would like a refresher on the recent updates to the regulations. Register for the webinar.

New Virtual Coffee Break: Intrauterine Contraception 

This brief e-learning course prepares participants to counsel clients on types of intrauterine contraception (IUC), mechanisms of action, terminology, candidates for use, and duration of use. This course is intended for Title X clinical providers, pharmacists, nurses, and other staff who provide contraception counseling and administration. This activity provides 0.25 CNE. The second episode of the new Reproductive Justice podcast series from NCTCFP features Robin Summers, JD, from the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA), and covers policy considerations for Title X and other family planning clinicians in 2022. Upcoming Clinician Café: An Introduction to Providing Care for American Indian and Alaska Native Clients 
January 17–22, 2023

Join NCTCFP from January 17–22 for a Clinician Café exploring established health care delivery systems for American Indians and Alaska Natives, disparities in sexual and reproductive health care, and ideas for designing a path forward.
