...weekly bulletin...

March 3, 2023
Dear <<First Name>>,
The Gr. 6-7 Art option has been learning about the elements and principles of art and design.  Students have explored a number of art mediums and styles to inspire artistic visions and express themselves through their creations. Projects have included creating flip-book animations, notan art designs, oil and chalk pastel compositions, origami folded paper creations, watercolor and acrylic paintings, and pencil drawings. Alongside creating projects, they have learned about contemporary and historical artists, used a variety of design techniques, and practiced technical drawing skills through sketchbook and art activities.  It is amazing to see the creativity and passion come to life every week!

Girls School

We are very excited to announce that we have three new students who have joined the Girls School this week!  A huge welcome to Kensey (Gr. 7), Evelyn (Gr. 7), and Lavinia (Gr. 6). This brings our first year cohort to 10 and the girls are thrilled!

Young Entrepreuner's Busines Fair

Save the Date: Coming Sunday, June 4th

The Young Entrepreneurs Business Fair is a real-life marketplace where North Point students exhibit and sell products or services to potential customers. The money generated from sales belongs to them.

On June 4, hundreds of Calgarians (including you, we hope!) will come to WinSport and shop at the dozens of small businesses managed by our young entrepreneurs from Gr. K-12. This is our 6th annual Fair, which has grown into Canada’s largest student business fair. It is free and open to the public.

Check out our new webpage, Business Fair Resources for Students & Parents, with dates, guidelines, FAQs, business ideas, sponsorship information, and other valuable information.

Stay tuned for more information about online business plans, posters and more. If you want to volunteer or become a sponsor/donor, contact Bruce Groberman, Director of Financial Education, at bgroberman@northpoint.school.

On March 10th, the first annual junior high debate tournament will be taking place for Gr.  8 & 9 students at the Currie Campus. All students are involved in the competition as debaters, judges, chairpersons, and timekeepers. This year's resolution guides students to explore topics such as taxation, public spending, private investment, inflation--and hockey!
