A Message from our new Executive Director

What I love about YLC is its capacity and ambition to embrace community involvement while enabling young professionals to acquire leadership skills and gain confidence in becoming leaders of the change: their own change plus a positive impact on others. The city needs leaders that can create links between communities and set an example for their peers.

I always believed in the power of the people, the citizens; that together, whether we 2 or a 100 of people, we can make a change. We can always make a change, no matter what the level is, we can always raise our voice and act. When you take part in a non-profit you know you belong to a group thinking and acting together to improve the life of the community on a daily basis. And I like action.

YLC is a well-known organization that has built its legacy among organizing link builder events and projects and I want to take it one step further. I want YLC to strengthen its links with the City Council in the creation and the implementation of civic and community projects as well as leadership programs. I also want to broaden the spectrum of volunteers by creating new collaborative partnerships with other non-profits, companies and schools, but also by bringing YLC events to different places. YLC is well-known to be a leadership incubator, and I would like to make it be a Leadership Accelerator by professionalizing and enriching the Leadership Series training program as well as the leadership skills in all activities.

Clean. Safe. Beautiful. New Orleans
Young Leadership Council (YLC) is proud to call New Orleans home. A center of culture, creativity, and innovation. New Orleans packs a whole lot of personality into a diverse, dynamic, and energizing hub. And we are determined to keep it that way.
Throughout the remainder of the year, YLC is hosting speakers, events, and volunteer opportunities focused on one central theme: Clean. Safe. Beautiful.
A clean, safe, and beautiful New Orleans is one where our members are excited to live, work, and raise a family. A clean, safe, and beautiful New Orleans is one where out-of-state young professionals want to move, and locals want to stay.
YLC is a community of passionate young professionals working to ensure New Orleans is a place we will always be proud of.

Volunteers Needed for YLC Wednesday at the Square
YLC is seeking volunteers for the 2022 Wednesday at the Square concert season. The series would not be possible without the help of our amazing volunteers. You can volunteer as an individual or as a group. Opportunities for individuals include the Louisiana Fish Fry Food Hall, official merchandise booth and more. Or you can 'adopt' a beer booth as a group for a fun team-building activity that also supports YLC's leadership development and community service programs!

GiveNOLA Day is Around the Corner!
This year, the Greater New Orleans Foundation's GiveNOLA Day is on May 3. Our Executive Team is asking all YLC members, board members, and alumni to create a peer-to-peer fundraiser with the goal of each person raising $250.

Your donations directly impact YLC's 7 community service projects, designed to improve the quality of life in Greater New Orleans and foster young professionals' leadership skills. Our vision is to be the platform for young leaders to build strong communities and create social change.

Watch this short video to learn how to set up your fundraising page.
