Support the Sound Wall
It appears that the long-awaited sound wall on the south side of Highway 50 between Stockton Blvd and 65th Street is going to be built. Contact  our Councilmember Eric Guerra, and express your support for the sound wall.

Elmhurst Trees Repurposed: A Community Project
Earlier this year Elmhurst lost 6 elm trees on T Street (5 on the Parkway). The trees were dying due to old age and failure to thrive; fortunately they did not have Dutch elm disease. They have been replaced with new healthy Dutch elm resistant trees – 4 Dutch elm hybrids and 2 oaks. We have managed to procure some of the wood from our lost elms with the help of the Tree Foundation’s Urban Wood Rescue Program.  We have a fun and creative opportunity to repurpose the wood.
Please come to a brainstorming and informational meeting to discuss what we can do with the remains of our beautiful trees, on Wednesday, May 2nd at 6:30pm – at the Coloma Center, in the Gold Run Room.   At this meeting we will discuss city process, artisan ideas, environmental procedure, and funding. This will be a fun project!  We hope to see you on May 2nd for our first meeting that will BLOOM into an exciting community Elmhurst endeavor!
