New gas lines and update from our retired postman Joe
PG&E neighborhood gas line work:
PG&E and subcontractors have been working in Elmhurst for the past several weeks. Residents report that workers have said they are replacing the gas lines.
A representative of the ENA board spoke with a foreman for the V Street part of the gas line replacement. He said the T Street portion of the job is finished and they hope to have U Street finished by Christmas. He also said that if it is necessary to temporarily shut off the gas to a home during the work, customers will be given 2-3 days advance notice.
This foreman also stated that the work on V Street may start in mid-January. He explained that the first step is a video inspection of the sewer lines by APS Environmental. APS marks the location of the sewer lines with pink flags. The foreman explained that when PG&E is through with replacing the gas lines, APS will come through again to check the sewer lines.
