Grissom Parents & Students,

     Congratulations tour Esports Teams! Grissom won first place in the state in “Rocket League.”  We won second place in the state in “League of Legends.”  A big “thank you” to Coach John Wright and Coach Chris Brown for their leadership with Esports!

Reminders for this week:
  • Students must bring their computer, bag, and power cord for collection to the IT room this week.  Computers must be returned no later than 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23rd. To avoid long lines, return the computer before Thursday.
  • Exams for grades 9-11 will begin on Monday, May 20th.  REMINDER: NO CHECK OUTS during exam week.  We cannot interrupt testing.   School will dismiss at 12:20 p.m. during exam week.  Buses will run on the exam schedule.
  • All medicine in the clinic should be collected by a parent no later than Wednesday, May 22nd.
  • High School students should not “visit” elementary or middle school campuses this week.
  • Report cards will be mailed next week.
     Summer school registration is currently in progress for students who may need to take a class during the summer.  Please contact your child’s counselor if you need additional information regarding summer school.
     Parking permit registration is open for the 2019-20 school year.  To access the link for parking registration, go the Grissom website, then to “student resources,” and then to “parking registration.”

Parking for the 2019-2020 school year will open on Monday, April 15th. Registration must be completed online through the Grissom High School website. The link can be found under Student Resource and Parking. The cost is $20.00. A signed copy of the rules and regulations, signed by the student and parent, and a copy of your driver's license,  car registration, and insurance must be turned in to complete your registration. Paper copies of the rules and regulations can be picked up in the front office or in the attendance office. Parking spaces are not guaranteed. 




Invitations have been mailed out. We will have two student speakers and a keynote speaker. The reception following the service provides a decorated photo area for everyone with fresh flowers and is always an enjoyable time for family and friends!


Do you like to run? The Grissom Cross Country team could use you. Come train with us over the Summer and see if you would want to be of a fun successful team. We will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Cost: $300 1st course/$150-an additional course

All students will pay a $25 registration fee to reserve a seat


Credit Enhancement courses available: Drivers Education, Health, and Career Preparedness

Cost: $300/1.0 credit hour

           $200/0.5 credit hour 


Drivers Education will be offered in 2 sessions:

Session 1: June 3rd-14th (8:00-3:30)

Session 2: June 17th-June 28th (8:00-3:30)


Brochures are available in the front office and in the Guidance Office.

 medications must be picked up from the Grissom Clinic no later than 12 PM on Wednesday, May 22nd. We will be available from 8 AM to 12 PM Monday, May 20th through Wednesday, May 22nd for medication pickup. NO MEDICATIONS WILL BE KEPT OVER THE SUMMER!!! If you do not pick up your child's medication by this time, it will be destroyed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Nurse Vida or Nurse Brooke at 256.428.8000, ext. 2243 or 2240.



Bus Route Updates

Apple Bus Company is now updating Huntsville City Schools bus routes weekly to incorporate changes. All route changes willtake effect on Wednesday of each week. 

Please check the School Bus Routes Map at Tuesday after 6pm for the latest updates and learn how any changes may affect your child’s pickup or drop-off times.  More information about HCS bus transportation is available at

Individual Field Trip Forms for Non-School Sponsored Activities  

Does your child need to have an Individual Field Trip form filled out so that their absences for activities which are not school sponsored are excused? Please follow the link to print your copy to complete and turn in.
