Let go of the Stress and Tap into your Life!

Life's Lessons

Sometimes our experience of life is dictated by what we think we see.  What we choose to see.  And what we don’t see.  

A way to change our perspective would be to notice what is absent.  And try to look for, to be aware of, to focus on what we don’t see.  We tend to notice that which we are looking for.  So choose to look for what you want.  Or even better, create what is absent from what you see.

Where I see darkness,
There is only the absence of light.

Where I see hate,
There is only the absence of Love.

Where I see fear,
There is an absence of understanding.

Where I see anger,
There is an absence of forgiveness.

Where I see confusion,
There is an absence of clarity.

Where I see evil,
There is an absence of compassion and love.

Instand of fighting against darkness, hate, fear, anger, confusion and evil,
I will allow for light, love, understanding, forgiveness, clarity and compassion -
... and I will transform the world!

A Path with Heart: A Spiritual Guide through the Perils and Promises of Spiritual Life (1999)
By Jack Kornfield

I have been reading/listening to passages from this gem of a book over 2 years now - we read a passage during the weekly meditation group I attend.  It is one of those books that you can just open up and no matter what page you land on, the wisdom and insight will help you gain some clarity and understanding into whatever you are going through.  

Jack Kornfield was trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma and India and is has been teaching meditation since 1974 - he is a key teacher to introducing mindfulness to the west.  He uses words and stories that we can all relate to - while conveying ways for us to gain insight into ourselves through mindfulness and meditation.  This is a perfect book for beginners to advanced!

"Dealing with Stress"

Support & Coaching Drop in Sessions with Lisa Kopil

During these monthly drop-in sessions we will address how stress affects us and different techniques that can be used to let go of stress, change our thinking/beliefs about what is causing the stress and bring more clarity, grounding and health into our daily lives.

Monthly drop in sessions will be held at the Carp Ridge Wellness Center every 2nd Thursday of the month (10:30 to 11:30am) and every last Wed of the month (7:00 to 8:00pm).

Location: Carp Ridge Ecowellness Center (Main clinic 4596 Carp Road, Carp, ON)
Fee: By Donation
