Freshen Up Your Business Style!

Here's 3 Fresh Ways to Market Your Business This Spring

1) Create Themes for Your Marketing Campaign
A new season means a new reason for a refreshing campaign! Themes can excite your employees, your board, and your customers. Create a theme and center your social media posts and newsletters around that theme. Words and images that align with that theme should showcase a new, exciting way to entice your customers. Pump up the volume by adding a catchy tagline for your campaign. Popular themes include "Spring Into Savings, "Spring Cleaning," and "Crisp Outlook." Too cliche for your business? Try word banking with key words from your mission statement to come up with exciting synonyms to use in your campaign and tagline.
Case Example: #RefreshinglyHonest
Honest Tea used this hashtag for their summer 2016 campaign. By encouraging people to share things that they wouldn't normally share with their close family and friends, the company sought to increase connectivity. In doing so, they created a theme to also connect people to their brand. This was an effective way to increase their fan base, and a clever use of words.
2) Recharge Your Batteries by Adding Color
Mix & Match to make your marketing materials pop! Whether it's new business cards for your employees or new print materials to advertise your services or products. Think about what appeals to your target audience, and use colors that draw them in. You can use the change in seasons as a reason to switch things up. Be sure to be consistent with your color scheme across all marketing platforms, be it social media, other online platforms, or print.
Case Example: Mint.com
Mint.com is a "free, web-based personal financial management service." They use a clean and fresh color scheme for their website to maintain a unique and branded appearance. Using green and orange colors is a subtle way to maintain the freshness and "new money" image of the company. Green is also a trusting color, which is effective in drawing in those who may be skeptical about using the company's services.
3) Highlight Your Spring Business Events Using Pictures from Your Customers
There's no better way to refresh your marketing than to inspire your customers to share your product or service. Creating a campaign where your audience can engage in the marketing process is an effective way to gauge what your audience thinks, while also showcasing your business and current campaign. Prior to an upcoming event, encourage your customers to share pictures and videos of what the event and the company means to them. The rule of thumb is to make sure that pictures and videos are appropriately shared by your team on media.
Case Example: "50 Million Smiles and Counting"
With assistance from Manifest Digital, Post Foods used this tagline for a campaign with their Honey Bunches of Oats brand cereal. To increase their fan base, they used testimonial videos, images, and quotes from fans who they made smile with the taste of their cereal. They then shared the user-submitted content across Facebook and Instagram. As a result the company gained 162,000 new fans.
