It has been a proactive two months at CFQ!

As the new CEO I am focusing my attention on the quality and quantity of our service delivery - not just for our members living in South East Queensland but also for those in the rural, remote and regional areas of the state. I will need your help to get this right.

We have launched two Advisory Committees – one for parents of children with CF and the other for CF adults. I am keen for as many members as possible to be given a voice and a chance to participate. No matter where you live in Queensland you can participate either in person or through conference call. Your ideas will help us shape 2017 and help us create a robust and sustainable model as we head towards 2020 and our 60 year anniversary! Join the conversation today by registering with our CFQ Services Team.

The end of the year always presents a chance for reflection. Many of the 2016 accomplishments, in addition to our
on-going services and support, have taken place in the last quarter of the year ensuring we are well positioned for a great 2017:

  • Sale of Kate St providing a financially secure organisation

  • Experienced Social Worker employed as Services Manager

  • Appointment of a Community Liaison officer

  • Securing corporate sponsorship of the Boredom Buster bags

  • Appointment of a Grants Officer tasked with securing long term financial sustainability

  • Appointment of a Regional Bookshop Manager to reinvigorate our shop fronts, guaranteeing an income stream for member services independent to government, grants and fundraising.

CFQ has now well and truly settled into our new Toowong digs. We are more accessible to members having secured office space serviced by bus, ferry and train with free onsite car parking. See map here.

All members are invited to our official launch Friday evening, 10 February 2017. Our guest of honour is our Patron, His Excellency The Honourable Paul de Jersey AC Governor of Queensland. The event will also be a great opportunity to see the new office first hand, to meet our new CFQ Team (including me) and the current CFQ Board and of course, our Patron. If you are not a member and would like to join or perhaps your membership has lapsed and you would like to renew, our Operations Coordinator is your first port of call.

No doubt the countdown to Christmas is taking place in your home, as it is in mine. I personally wish you all a safe and happy festive season and look forward to meeting you all in 2017.
