We've published the results of our latest tender

Following our Spring 2020 tender, the results have now been published and are available to view on our website here

Unfortunately, the bids received for these requirements were insufficient and did not demonstrate efficient investment of our customer's money. However, we will continue to review the requirements at these sites, and some may be re-tendered in Autumn once we have conducted our annual loading review.

New requirements to be published in Autumn

We will be holding a joint workshop in the Autumn with our Community and Local Energy colleagues, where we’ll be talking about our new flexibility requirements and exploring how we can further break down the barriers to participating in flexible services.

Keep an eye on the events page, or sign up to our flexible services distribution list to stay up to date with events and announcements like these.
DSO Strategy consultation

As part of our transition to net zero carbon, we are inviting our stakeholders to comment on our plans for the electricity network in the North West.

We've published three new documents which describe the progress we have made and set out the next steps we are taking on the transition to 'distribution system operation' (DSO) - an industry-wide initiative to drive the changes needed to achieve net zero carbon dioxide emissions in the UK.

The consultation on the three documents - our 'DSO Strategy', 'Analysis of DSO functions' and our 'Grid digitalisation & data strategy' - opened on the 6th July and close on the 9th September

You can review all three documents and respond to our consultation surveys on our website here
Inputs to 2020 DFES consultation

Our annual Distribution future electricity scenarios (DFES) document details our view of the region’s future electricity requirements, and outlines a range of scenarios which show how different influences can change demand and generation on our network.

The DFES plays an essential role in allowing us to identify future flexible services requirements here in the North West.

We are now inviting our customers and wider stakeholders to review and comment on the inputs we will use to create the forecasts for our 2020 DFES, outlined in the ‘Inputs to our 2020 DFES’ document. The consultation opened on Monday 6 July 2020 and closes on Friday 7 August 2020 at 6.00pm.

You can review the document and respond to our consultation survey on our website here.
ENA consultation coming soon

We're involved in the ENA's Open Networks project flexibility work stream, in which the UK's network operators are working together to shape the future of electricity networks.

The ENA will soon be publishing a consultation on the progress of the flexibility work stream so far, describing what work has been undertaken in the last twelve months and laying out plans for the future.

We'll write to you once the consultation is live and let you know how you can take part.
