Hi <<First Name>>,

Welcome to this week’s issue of the Alameda Post newsletter! We welcome two new contributor this week: Denise Lum, who will be writing about health and fitness, and Maurice Ramirez, who is also the City’s official photographer.

This week’s articles include City Council approved funding for Dignity Village, the Alameda County DA’s report on the Mario Gonzalez homicide, how dance improves your mental health, performances at the Waterfront Park Launch Fest, and the Alameda Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards. Also featured is the latest installment of retired firefighter Dave LeMoine’s memories of growing up in Alameda and becoming an Alameda firefighter.

We redesigned our front page to show even more news and make it easier for you to find the stories you want to read. Check it out!

Memories of Bay Farm Island

Retired Alameda firefighter Dave LeMoine grew up on Bay Farm Island in the 40’s and 50’s, before he joined the Alameda Fire Department in the 60’s. He has shared his memories with the Post to serialize. New installments will be posted every Friday.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, please reply to this email, and I will be happy to respond.

Thank you again for supporting independent Alameda news!
