On 4th February 2020, the Minister for Health and Social Services made an oral statement: Update on the work of the Inter-Ministerial Group on Paying for Social Care

Support for those living with liver conditions
Cymorth i’r sawl y mae cyflyrau’r afu arnynt
 
The British Liver Trust is a national charity aiming to reduce the impact of liver disease and help everyone affected by a liver condition through the provision of information, support and research.  We have a network of support groups across the UK that offer:
  •  Support: meet with others who understand how it feels to be affected by a liver condition.
  • Advice: hear from health professionals regarding various aspects of living with a liver condition or life after a liver transplant.
  • Information: British Liver Trust patient guides are available to anyone affected by or interested in a liver condition.
  • Events: Share information about the latest liver news and treatments and hear about the activities of the Trust and the wider liver community.

Requests for Quotes by WCVA
 
WCVA has sent out Requests for Quotes (RFQs) for the drafting of think pieces.  These are related to Future well-being of Wales – ‘looking beyond Brexit – New service models for voluntary organisations?’ Rights and standards underpinning well-being’, Responding to climate emergency’ and ‘a new economy for Wales’. 
 
Please note the deadline for submissions is 4pm on 26th February.  The requests for quotes are available as downloads here.   When you click on the links on the right-hand side of the page, it will appear in a zip folder at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.  
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Sport webinar
 
The NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) has released a webinar discussion ACEs and why they matter in sport.  The webinar explores: what ACEs are; the effects they have on the developing brain; and the role sport can play in helping to overcome toxic stress and trauma in children.

Gypsy Maker 4 at g39 by The Romani Cultural Arts Company
 
An evening of talks and discussion in conjunction with g39. 
 
23rd May 2020, 6pm – 8pm, G39, Oxford Street, Cardiff, CF24 3DT
 
The event takes place to mark the end of the tour of new works by the artists Cas Holmes and Dan Turner.  These exhibitions of newly commissioned artworks are the latest in the RCAC’s ground-breaking Gypsy Maker project.

The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales is seeking your views on the image used on a Road Sign Warning Sign.  This survey should take you no longer than 4 minutes to complete.  Click here to complete the survey.

New mental health and well-being drop in centres
open in Conwy and Denbighshire
 
The new I CAN Community Hubs in Prestatyn, Rhyl and Llandudno will all open their doors for the first time over the coming weeks.  I CAN Hubs are community spaces which offer people a chance to talk through their problems, be listened to without judgement, and access the services and support they need. 
 
Further I CAN Hubs are due to be opened across Gwynedd, Anglesey, Flintshire and Wrexham in the coming weeks.  You can read more here
