If you can't make the forum, you CAN still help:
Governor Cuomo's 2019 budget creates a healthcare commission to consider what, if anything, should be done on health care. This is a blatant attempt to push off passage of the NY Health Act, and it is already clear that Cuomo will pack the commission with enemies of single payer.
It's urgent that we call legislators NOW and for the next couple of weeks.  Here's what to do:

  1. Call your Legislators!  For Senators, call 518-455-2800,  For Assembly members, call 518-455-4100.  Ask them to:
    1. Cosponsor and then vote for the NYHA.
    2. Support striking from the budget the proposed Universal Health Care Commission, which is unnecessary and will merely delay urgently-needed action on the health care affordability crisis.

  2.  Submit testimony!  To submit testimony re the Universal Health Care Commission to the Ways & Means and Health Committees (it's a joint Assembly-Senate hearing), you have until  Feb. 14th. Send it to both wamchair@nyassembly.gov and financechair@nysenate.gov. Feel free to send a draft to Bob Lederer (bob@pnhpnymetro.org)  if you want help.
Let's DO This!

From our Environment Action Group:

THIS SATURDAY is ROCKLAND DAY @ CPV PROTEST
Our next visit to support the CPV protesters is this Saturday, February 9 from 11 am to noon.  Won't you please spend an hour at the protest in support of our neighbors who have been battling this horrendous project for years now?  This fracked gas power plant was built on corruption, will add significantly to NY's greenhouse gas emissions, and is poisoning local residents.  How can we ever have a meaningful transition to renewable energy in NY if we let projects like this go forward?!

The more people the merrier, so please reach out to friends and family to see who else can come.
The target address is 3360 U.S 6, Middletown, NY.  The time is from 11 am to noon, only an hour, and it is RAIN OR SHINE.  Dress very warmly—an hour seems very long if you're cold.

Email Jordan Dale to carpool from my address:  18 Park Lane, Nanuet.  Please plan to arrive at my house by 10 am.
