Making the Grade

 “What makes a [student] gifted and talented may not always be good grades in school, but a different way of looking at the world and learning,” (Grassley) which is what 21st century learning is all about. But, how can we assess required 21st century soft skills, such as creative thinking, innovation, and adaptability, fairly and confidently? A student asks, “How come I only got a B+ on innovation, instructor?” You can reply, “Hmmmm, let me just read this month’s Teaching Matters Newsletter and get back to you.”
